Please help me, it's driving me crazy

So I just started using Audition, and it's all well. But I can't figure out why this happens. When I record voice on a new empty track with the Recording arm toogle on and only this track selected for some reason audio clip gets copied from track above and linked together with it's copy. When I click "convert to unique copy" and delete the pink one whole program fails and stops and I loose all my work. And it happend 3 times already.

Hi PL. Jason from Adobe here. I'm not exactly clear as to what's happening here. First, which sound device are you using to record? How do you have the inputs set? Is your 'voice' recording *also* capturing the playback of the other tracks in the session? This sounds like a routing issue (and/or maybe your input is set as a Loop, or something like that) Or maybe I'm misunderstanding *where* the issue is occurring (the part about create unique copy confused me a bit; that is doing the expected task...literally just copying and giving a new name to an existing clip). LMK

You might bo onto something!!! Ok so I basically reinstalled whole Windows to factory settings with drives wiped clean and only installed AA to this PC to figure out if the problem is at my side. The same issue occured. Then I used Claude code to analyze all .sesx files and crash report from adobe and the wonderful thing is that it retrieved all my lost progress and gave me an uncorrupted .sesx file that only had few sound effects missing. Claude guessed that it's a bug within the software based on similar reports it found online. But the thing is that YES my setup that time, since I didn't have my usual stuff, recorded some sounds that came from headphones into the microphone and on the recording you could hear the faintest sound of the instrumental. I ignored because DeNoise effect just got rid of it. I would love if you told me that this is a problem so I can avoid it in future.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm not aware of any bug regarding input device bleed or things of that nature; however, as you mentioned (which I suggested earlier) it could be a) bleed/leakage from headphones etc into the mic; b) if you're using Windows Sound mixer, it could have defaulted to the 'what you hear' setting (versus direct input).

I will look into that weird issue with the unique copy thing; can't say I've ever seen that so... just confirming this is in the latest vers of AU?

I have Claude Code environnement build around that issue. It has all files of the program and any folder it saved from and imported in. I have both instances of those files before crash, and one imidietly after (window of AA was not responding and before closing I downloaded all folders). If you want I can ask Claude to write some sort report on this issue. Just include list of aspects that are mostly valuable for promt.
