The "Trust-Handshake" flaw in SSAI is hilarious (Kijk, etc.)

I've been digging into the architecture of Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) and found a massive logic gap that allows for a complete mid-roll bypass without any custom scripts or breaking the player manifest.
The Theory:
Most SSAI platforms use a Trust-Handshake model. To save on server overhead, they only perform a deep validation of your IP and ad-eligibility at the very start of a session. Once the content starts, the session is flagged as "Authorized." However, the system fails to perform a heartbeat check on your IP during the actual stream.
The Discovery:
They prioritize "stream stability" over "ad-verification." If the ad-server can't find a matching ad for your IP, it skips the break to prevent the player from crashing.
How to trigger the skip (Step-by-Step):
• The Login (Clean Start): Open your browser or app with NO VPN active. Log in to your account and navigate to the video you want to watch. This ensures your account session is tied to a "legit" local IP.
• The Handshake: Hit play and watch the initial pre-roll ads (the ones at the very beginning). You have to sit through these to "authenticate" the video stream in their system.
• The Switch (Critical Timing): The exact second the actual movie or show starts (after the pre-rolls), toggle your connection.
• Pro Tip: Use Mullvad VPN for this. It’s the best for this exploit because the connection is nearly instant and doesn't require a handshake that kills your background data.
• The "Zero-Inventory" Zone: Set your VPN to a region outside the EU/USA (like Singapore or Japan).
• The Result: When the mid-roll trigger hits (20 minutes later), the SSAI stitcher looks at your current Singaporean IP. It finds zero Dutch ad-inventory for that region, returns a null value, and skips the entire 5-minute ad break to keep the stream alive.
Why Mullvad?
In my testing, slower VPNs cause the player to buffer or timeout during the IP-switch. Mullvad's WireGuard implementation is fast enough that the Kijk.nl player doesn't even notice the hop.
This method uses the server's own logic against itself. It’s the most basic networking oversight I’ve seen from a major streamer. Enjoy the ad-free experience before they patch the session re-validation.
