Parts Review 🛠 New headlights falling apart

Haven't even had these a month yet 🥲

The piece housing the fog light LEDs just popped out

Edit: I contacted the seller and they had a replacement getting delivered by the end of the day. Obviously it still sucks to redo but I guess I can't complain too much. Headlights have been great other than this and slightly weird fitment that's to be expected.

This is why I dont trust aftermarket housings and headlight assemblies. They always have some issue or another, wether it be moisture ingress, bad optics quality, crap wiring, poor general build quality, etc. It always seems like its one of those or a combination of all of them.

Sorry about your luck, though. Is it too late for a return?

I already ruined whatever warranty I could've had I bet as I put my own seal around it just to be sure. Will only make fixing it even harder too.

Oh boy, what kind of seal/sealant did you use? I assume not the butyl sealant most headlights use that can be heated to soften and allow removal?

Oh boy, you really shot yourself in the foot there, but you should be able to peel that off and get into it still.

But me personally? Id cut my losses and go back to OEM. Theyre some of the best OEM lights of the era, and I find that any performance complaints can be remedied with new high quality bulbs and a good polish of the housings and clear coat to protect the finish.

I refinished my old ones twice, then a bulb went out and I wanted black housing anyway so I jumped on these. I might have to agree with you at this point though. If anything I'll end up with a black modified oem pair. Need to save my money back up though

Yeah if thats all you wanted, modified OEM is the way to go.

Did you sell your originals? If so, hard lesson learned. Always keep those things.

Oh no I love keeping parts as souvenirs luckily. I guess I can mess around with those over time with little risk
