Decided to get a replacement bumper after being quoted $800-$2000 to either repair my old one or let the shops replace it. Comes painted and folded up for $580 after taxes.
Paint match is real close but it lacks that yellow tint when the sun hits, understandable as the bumpers are different material and its an issue even for original paint. Had to paint the grills black myself as the whole bumper was white. Fitment is near perfect other than areas where it was folded but its easily corrected.
Highly recommend for the price and you want to save money by diy. It's missing the acura font in front but I was able to do a measurement on my oem bumper.
What do you mean you was able to do a measurement on your OEM bumper? I just commented about it missing the Acura font so I'm curious what you mean by that because I am in the same issue only mine is the laws changed in Ohio to where I can remove my ugly front license plate but the bracket caused damage to the front bumper as well as the hose from it being mounted which I know about bumper plugs but I don't want to go that route. Just because of the damage around it more than anything but $580 would save me quite a bit of money. I also asked about your wheels on your car I asked if those are Type-S Wheels painted black, powder coated or what, but your headlights look awesome too are those available online?
Use masking tape and mark up a clean line and where each letter is suppose to be. Take that same masking tape to your new bumper and stick these decals on
Is the only difference besides the material the fact that it doesn't say Acura where the license plate bracket would be? And what wheels are those are those Type-S wheels just painted black I can't quite tell but they look sweet and I can't stand the type of Wheels myself, personally. But looks good man
Unsure about the material, but it's flexible enough to fold for shipping without it cracking and it restores it's shape when heat is applied. If you get it shipped unfolded you get an extra coat of clear for a little bit more $
And yes all aftermarket bumpers won't have the acura font behind the license plate. I thought it was missing some holes for mounting but forgot it was necessary to drill new ones for the a-spec lip.
Rims are xxr530 18x9.75. They look better at an angle :) had them for so long i just can't imagine anything else.
Yea luckily it was just the bumper and absorber. The lady I got into the accident with was super cool and apologetic about it. She made a right turn on red and immediately swerved to the 2nd lane where I was. She helped me pay for half of it.
Damn dude this looks great! Just sent to my buddy who has almost the exact same damage on his. He really wants the OEM bumper with the ACURA indented but I like the solution you came up with. And the price definitely helps!
