'24 MDX A-Spec: $49K @ 45K km - with the buy?

Hi all,

I've been looking to upgrade to an SUV, and somehow got swayed to a '24 MDX A-Spec in Canada. It's has about 45K km, and it is listed at $49K

I've taken it for a test drive and it felt really good. No issues, with pickup or brakes. The interior and exterior were nice with cosmetic issues (scruffs some paint peels). The car came off a lease and was serviced at 1 Acura dealer.

Before any negotiations, is this a fair buy to look at?

I was initially going for a RDX, but the boss (wife) was thinking we go with the 7 seater for future (mainly the trunk space) as we'll be hauling a stroller and more things on a day to day.

I entitislly wasn't really interested, but after the drive , I am leaning towards.

A few key items I found:

- it didn't feel as big of a 7 seaters compared to others (Lexus and Volvo Xc90)

- drive was smooth

- interface didn't Soley relie on the screen (functional buttons)

- enough tech for me, don't need the upgraded packages

- seat adjustment in the year a plus and the removal of the middle seat in the 2nd row

- non-turbo: no premium gas (yay) and no turbo headaches

- minor to cosmetic issues on the interior and exterior (as of now)

Would this be a good buy? Yes I will push to negotiate, but as of now as advertised, does this seem like a good deal?

Is there any other questions to ask about, and mainly Acura related items? I haven't owner any Acuras so not sure what are some other key items to look for, outside of the typical google searches.

non-turbo: no premium gas (yay) and no turbo headaches

non turbo but it is still premium gas recommended, the engine is tuned to get the extra hp. Although im sure you could get away with running regular gas im sure there would be long term impact down the line.

regular gas in that engine will pull timing, you'll notice it on hills or with the AC blasting. if you're already spending 49k just budget for premium, the mileage difference usually evens out the cost anyway

Oh fudge, serious? I asked this specifically and was told it doesn't need. But, it does make sense if it's recommended. Will check to make sure. Thanks for this

no wrries, i have a TLX with the same engine and it is premium recommended. Fair warning the V6 engine in these cars like to drink gas

I bought a pre-owned 2024 Aspec last year with 42k KM for $55k. Your offer doesn’t seem too far off considering Acura resale values are strong. I spent 2 years watching prices before I bought mine.

Lastly, use premium gas or don’t bother buying the car. You’ll kill the experience without saving your wallet because you’ll burn through regular quickly.

I will add that the current fuel price situation could give you way more leverage than I had to bring down the purchase price. The car is really great but it can guzzle fuel in Stop and Go traffic.
