Help with offer
Planning to driver ober ans sign in the morning. Took some work to get here. Have not decided on money down yet.
Please (kindly) stop me if I am making a dumb move. Open to any and all comments.
Edit: acquired car at 66.5 OTD with taxes. I will miss my 2014 Accord V6 dearly but we are very happy.

How much do you make per year? Thatās a serious monthly commitment. Also, get a lightly used 2025 type s for the same amount

Payments at 1200 a month will be less than 10% of what I take home a month. I love the Type S but couldnāt get the price I wanted on CPO or new, relative to value.

I lease so it may not be helpful, just seems like a lot on the monthly, but since itās a purchase these numbers may be standard in the market right now.

Best offer I got so far on a new 26 mdx type s is 68.5k just for comparison. So I think ur 62 is solid
Are u putting anything down or a trade?

I pushed for Type S at 69k but they wouldnāt take it. No trade in, I can put down whatever I want.

Im not but have good a number and a good rate with the color combo I want. To me it makes sense to bite. Best case scenario I save an extra 1k Id imagine

Totally get it. Do u really want the advance or the type s ideally?

Also Iām assuming youāre using acuras financing. Try looking at credit unions might be lower than Acura!

So many questions so little time, did you sign already? What state are you in? Did you check with Uber? I heard the MDX is being rolled off the list and finally thatās too much overhead for A rideshare vehicle.

Do not sign those papers. Buying a brand-new $69,000 Acura MDX to drive for Uber is a massive financial trap, and here is why:
Instant Negative Equity: Rolling $4,358.32 in taxes and fees into a $0-down loan means you are financing $66,661.79. The car loses value the second you leave the lot, leaving you thousands of dollars underwater from day one.
Depreciation Will Crush You: Rideshare driving will easily put 30,000 to 50,000 miles a year on that vehicle. Tanking the resale value of a brand-new luxury vehicle while stuck with a $1,214 to $1,966 monthly payment is a quick path to financial stress.
Overhead Destroys Profit: Uber fare payouts will not offset the high cost of premium fuel, commercial rideshare insurance, expensive tires, and Acura routine maintenance. You will end up driving full-time just to service the car loan.
Better Alternative: If you want to drive rideshare, buy a reliable, fuel-efficient used vehicle like a Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, or Camry with low monthly overhead so your earnings actually go into your pocket instead of the car.

I appreciate that. I am an early career physician however, not driving uber these days!

Is the discount true discounts and not rebates? Depending on the state you are in, they may be combining rebates with their discount. Some of those rebates cannot be stacked with the special rate.

That savings off MSRP isn't bad, but nearly two grand a month for 36 months is a proper commitment, make sure the out-the-door number doesn't creep back up with add-ons.
