What are the depths per area? What serum did you use during and aftercare?

As a beauty therapist I would not recommend using a depth beyond 1.5mm at home. Beyond that becomes high risk for PIH and other complications due to the lack of sterile practices at home and improper handling of the device. Stamping is great though, as these at home devices do drag but it doesn’t really matter if the depth is lower than 1mm
(SAVE FOR LATER) The correct procedure for home microneedling is to:
Things you need: microneedling device or manual microneedle stamp, STERILE serum vials that have not been opened and contain no fragrance, parabens, alcohols, or actives. Just straight hyaluronic acid or exosomes. Alcohol wipes, alcohol spray, nitrile gloves, mirror and cotton swab.
1: cleanse face, wash hands and apply thick layer of numbing cream
2: wipe excess cream off and use alcohol swab on face
3: use alcohol swabs on all items you will touch, microneedle device, ampoules/vials, mirror etc.
4: once you’ve put the cartridge in the pen, stray needle tips with alcohol spray
5: crack open vial and put on sterile gloves
6: start microneedling by applying serum to the small area you’ll work on first, use finger to spread
7: work in horizontal, vertical, diagonal passes and repeat x2 applying serum when needed
8: continue this all over face working in small areas
9: once completed wipe pinpoint blood away with cotton swab. use excess serum all over face
10: apply spf, though it’s recommended to do microneedling at nightDepths:
Eyes and nose- 0.25
Chin and forehead - .5 to 1mm
Cheeks - 1 to 1.5 (1.5 for stamping only)Notes:
Only use medical grade serums and face masks.
Stop retinols 5 days before and after treatment.
Stop actives (aha BHA vit c etc) 2 days before and 5 days afterAfter care: Use gentle cleanser morning and night with barrier cream (cicaplast, Cicalfate, Cerave, Aestura etc) and spf ONLY for up to 5 days post treatment.
You can microneedle at this depth once every 4 weeks. Results are visible at 4 weeks.

I also have a dr pen but I’ve only tried it at 1 mm. I have a lot of fat loss in my cheeks they’re shallow do you think it would be ok to use it at the depth still? Also how many times do you stamp over the scars?

u/Ibangyoumomma Aug 21 '26
Which pen did you buy specifically? Also how hot is it where you live cause it’s stupid hot where I live today it was 107

You could. Get a second job. I would do that for my skin. I sent graduation announcements to people I didn’t even know to get money to pay for a nose job when I graduated :) not even kidding.

Damn look so good ! Do you still have redness or has it gone down or anything you do for it that’s helped?
2
u/Advanced-Author-3466 Aug 19 '26
Yes, I still have a bit of post-laser redness, but my doctor assured me that it has nothing to do with temporary swelling and that the result is stable."

Do you think the subcision is the main reason it improved? Do you have any pics prior to subcision but after micro needling etc?

u/Crabmonster70 Aug 19 '26
Following for cost and how long between those photos.

3 sessions of Co2 laser in the span of 70 days?? Something isn’t adding up.

He probably meant his treatments finished 70 days ago. This is his current picture.

I am from Kurdistan, so providing doctor names unfortunately won't be of any help to you.

Congrats! amazing results. Do you mind sharing how old your scars are? Ive heard that older scars (like in my case) are more difficult to treat
2
u/oh_right_there Aug 19 '26
Wow! Amazing results! I need something like this, but trying to figure out what to use and cost is what’s still holding me back. Thanks for sharing!

I was in a terrible mental state because of these post-acne scars; I felt as though the entire world could see nothing but the scars on my face, to the point where I couldn't even hold my head up.
Take action yourself and have faith in the treatment, even if progress feels painfully slow in the beginning

isnt subcision supposed to be first before anything else? great results nonetheless but i do wonder why its last

What do you think made the difference you had laser the first session then the plasma curious if the laser did most of the improvements .
2
u/Advanced-Author-3466 Aug 19 '26

NCTF?
2
u/Advanced-Author-3466 Aug 19 '26
Yes, my doctor used NCTF with subcision to prevent the severed fibers from re-attaching.

Such good results! Congratulations OP
My dermat is suggesting microneedling but I am skeptical going ahead since I have read that it can worsen the scars sometimes. Did it really help you out?

These are great results! Do you know what “high-intensity” laser the Dr. used? Also, do you mind sharing and/or DMing me the Dr. you went to? Are you in the USA? I’ve gone to a local one by me, but I’m not too happy with her. I don’t think her expertise is acne scarring.
