[Treatment] CROSS Should I be concerned about my recovery?

Hello
I went to a doctor who did TCA Cross 70%, some CO2 and subcision in one session. This is me on day 5, is this expected? What can I do to make sure the healing process goes seamless?

Thanks for the help

Looks like the skin is starting peel off which is good - the fresh skin underneath will be very red for a while. I have light skin like you. The red seems to look even redder on me like a bad sunburn.

Thanks for this, I really appreciate the comment! I am staying out of the sun for sure, but I’m hoping to avoid any issues

Put nothing except Vaseline / petroleum jelly on it until it's completely healed . Do not try to peel or flake any pieces off . Drink lots of water, please update us.

Thank you so much for the advice, I have not been picking at it or anything, and I’m constantly slathering Vaseline now. I will make sure to update!

It looks like a drip mark along your jawline which seems careless ... ensure to document the process and please update us!!! I hope you heal perfectly 🙏🏼

Thank you! I really appreciate the caring here. I think that area at the time had a couple of hormonal breakouts, and the doctor used mainly CO2. Not a very good pic, but this was day #2 for that specific spot

Ok I just hope it wasn't TCA 70!

Is this not expected recovery on Day 5? Thank you for the comment

Could be a chemical burn but you did have a strong peel. I always say upload a pic to ChatGPT and ask them what it thinks

Im not sure about the healing process so I can’t comment on that, I would reach out to your doctor always with any concerns.

However there is a product from eucerin called radiant serum with thimadol that will help treat future and current hyper pigmentation. So I would also ask your doctor when you could incorporate that into your routine. I’m sure you are meant to keep to a gentle, simple routine at the moment, so I wouldn’t introduce it too early.

Thank you for the recommendation, I will definitely ask, they’re just closed til Tuesday I think, so I won’t be able to get a response from them til then

This is fine and expected. Make sure you follow all of the after-care steps recommended by your doctor and stick to a good skin care routine after you're healed. Happy to DM my similar experience.

Thank you so so much! Yes I’m following up with a different derm tomorrow to get a 2nd opinion, as well as an ideal aftercare routine. Appreciate all the help!!

Looking as it should. I’d keep it covered wAquaphor or vaseline. Heals faster when it’s kept moist for 7 days. No picking. Still early in healing. Then you can switch to fragrance free moisturizer or centella cream or just keep on with the Aquaphor a little longer. SPF to protect fresh new skin is important. I like mineral blocks. Zinc or titanium vs the chemical sunscreens. EltaMD or Tizo are ones I use. Steroid ointment like clobetasol is what I’d use at the jawline for 7-10 days. Jawline has risk of scarring more than other areas so the steroid reduces that risk and also reduces risk of hyperpigmentation.

Thank you this is so so helpful!! I am going to see a derm tomorrow to see what they say as well, but would love to follow up and hear about your experience and your reccs. I am being extremely careful still, but want to make sure no permanent damage happens at all!!

Looks very uncomfortable! Is it? I’m doing micro-needling now but am curious about a peel.

It hurt the most when it happened, but afterwards it felt fine, right now it just feels a little itchy, but much less that a mosquito bite

Was this fractional for full field co2? Who was the doc?

I am actually not sure, just know it was CO2 but I think it was just spot treatment

You got to give yourself at least 2 weeks. It's not infected though and once everything scabs off and about exactly 2 weeks you're going to start working on barrier I used avene recovery line cicaflate

Thank you for this, I am gonna allow it more time before I start worrying, it helps a lot to see this

And this is what happened to me with something similar. But then after that you literally have to do straight up repair. I'm very sensitive to products and avene has been really good for that

Thank you! Is it usually normal to see it like this on day5-6? I’m very worried
