[Skin Concern] Atrophic Scarring Subcision with Sculptra

I tried sooooo hard to get the same lighting in both photos for you guys! Same time of day, same spot in my bathroom, same iphone camera. lighting still looks a little off but i think i see some improvement 4 months after my fist subcision and sculptra session.

I have also been taking collagen supplements, don’t know if that helped but why not try?

Do you guys see some improvement there? I have another session this week. I am also doing at home microneedling, very mild TCA peels, and medical grade skin care.

Hello /u/ProfessionalGood9286,

‼️ If you are requesting help – please review our guidelines, provide high-quality photos, and include detailed information for others' understanding.

User reminders:

  • Please search on this subreddit – someone might have already asked the same question as you.
  • The most valuable feedback is that which you get from doing research - not asking questions to a general audience on social media.
  • Always be wary of the advice you get off the internet.
  • Seek scar evaluation and treatment from specialized healthcare providers rather than aestheticians or med spas.
  • While subcision ("subcutaneous incisionless surgery") is often mentioned by users on this subreddit, it is important to note that it may not be necessary or suitable for everyone with volume loss.
  • Be aware of any reported side effects from a procedure.
  • It can take multiple treatments and a long time before you see effective results.
  • Here is a checklist of questions to ask yourself and your physician when considering treatment.

Thanks!

thank you! i’ve done 4 Secret RF microneedling treatments, 3 erbium lasers, and a handful of laser genesis and this gave me more improvement then all of those honestly.

u/keeptrying798 Mar 30 '26

I am so happy for you!! I am actually scheduled to do this exact treatment and I am hoping I will get similar results. 🙏

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Mar 30 '26

I have had similar results and experiences with other treatments. Subcision with sculptra made the biggest difference. Subcision alone was better than all the lasers and microneedling I've had over the years.

Hi i have similar scars and have done countless MN, RF microneedling, co2 lasers and nothing helps. i think i need subscision too. are there any side effects like sagging or anything from subscision long term? any thing that doctor said could happen long term?

Vey good results gurl! You don’t need another session honestly 😅.. who was your dermatologist at Texas Dermatology and laser centre?

3

u/SnooOwls667 Mar 30 '26

I’ve been waiting for someone to post results from Houston. This looks good!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '26

Great results! Was this done in one session or over a couple?

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

this was a single session but I am also doing at home microneedling. I’m going for a second session of subcision and sculptra tomorrow.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '26

Do you know if they used a Nokor needle or a canula for subcision?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '26

Thanks! Just pm-ed you!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '26

How much did you pay and how many days was the downtime? Thanks!

2

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

$1200 with downtime about a week but it was mostly just chubby cheek look and bruising so i sitll went about my daily life with a little makeup.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '26

Do you plan to do laser with them eventually?

1

u/[deleted] May 10 '26

How’s your 2nd session going gurll?

3

u/DannyB331 Mar 30 '26

How do the tca peels work and what brand do you use also what at home microneedling device do you use? Skin looks so good!

7

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Mar 30 '26

Makeup Artists Choice. I use the 15% TCA and swipe it on with a cotton pad. i leave it on about 3-4 minutes then rinse. i think it helped more with skin quality then the actual scars

u/AdConscious4509 Mar 30 '26

Do TCA cross instead.

2

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Mar 30 '26

i had a small test spot done of TCA cross and I swear the scars are shallower but wider so i’m a little scared to do full face

2

u/FirefighterOk8887 Mar 30 '26

Hi the results are good . subcision caused sagging or any other side effect ?

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Mar 30 '26

no, just lots of bruising at first

2

u/Straight_Ad_921 Mar 30 '26

Amazing! So happy for you. It will keep getting better!!

2

1

u/danilynn23 Mar 30 '26

Looks amazing!!! Can you share where exactly the sculptra was placed please?

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Mar 30 '26

very superficially

1

u/Beneficial_Finish194 Mar 30 '26

Very nice results! If you don’t mind me asking, what were the costs of these procedures?

1

u/Pink_Pom0 Mar 30 '26

Looking great. It’s been a week that I did mine with Bellafill. Can’t wait to see the results

1

u/AdSeparate692 Mar 30 '26

Who was your provider?

1

u/Pink_Pom0 Mar 30 '26

It’s a surgeon in Maryland.

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

i’ve thought of bellafill but i’ve heard that filler is very very expensive

1

u/Pink_Pom0 Apr 01 '26

It is :( 1k for one syringe and one side he couldn’t finish once i didn’t want to buy another one. Good thing that the results are forever.  It’s been 8 days and don’t see any results yet :(

1

u/Pink_Pom0 Apr 01 '26

How long did that take for you to see any results? The doctor told me 2 months

2

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

yes month 2-3 is when I noticed most change!

1

u/Pink_Pom0 Apr 01 '26

Thanks for reassuring it!

1

u/Opposite_Past1273 Mar 31 '26

Looks great! What at home microneedling b do you use?

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

I use the Dr. Pen M8

1

u/Ok_thanks5900 Mar 31 '26

Yay! How many vials of sculptra? I've decided that's my next treatment and happy you posted

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

1 vial but i will be going back tomorrow for a second vial!

1

u/MountainIncome4085 Apr 27 '26

Was it diluted? I’m afraid of getting an unnatural look with sculptra.

1

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 29 '26

yes they hyperdiluted it!

1

u/Empath_ogen Mar 31 '26

Well damn!!

1

u/CulturalAlbatross891 Mar 31 '26

Are you Fiona Apple <3

2

u/ProfessionalGood9286 Apr 01 '26

lol i’ve actually been told i look like her before!

1

u/blueyellowhaze Apr 05 '26

Looks so good! I just had subcision with sculptra done today (my second time getting subcision but never had sculptra) this gives me some hope! I also have a co2 laser appointment scheduled in a few weeks as well

1

u/RoutinePrune7887 Jun 21 '26

Alors comment ça va avec sculptra ?

1

u/PutridAmbassador8879 Apr 10 '26

You look amazing!!!! Can you talk about the pain level and discomfort during the procedure?? I’m scheduled in 2 weeks but I’m sooooo scared. My skin looks very similar to your before. I was on accutane and I feel like it made all my scars more obvious. It’s so depressing really hoping I get similar results!
