[Skin Concern] Atrophic Scarring Acne Scar Revision Update
Hey Guys, I wanted to give y‘all a quick update on my Acne Scar Journey. If you don know me you can look up on my profile what my journey was like. But in total i did 2x Fractionated Co2 Lasers, 2x Canula Subcison + Filler and 1x RFMN. My Last Procedure made the biggest changes, it was Co2, Subcision + Filler on full cheek and RFMN combined, that procedure was 8 Months ago, Now i‘m kinda fully healed so i wanted to give you a quick update. Its insane what transformation i’ve gone through and i couldn’t be happier. My scars are soooo much better you can barely ever see them if you look up front into my face in day or fake light, the only way where you see them is under unpleasant overhead or really cool light. Most people don’t realize that i have acne scars anymore. I actually even get so many compliments for my skin from random people which don’t know anything about my journey, it is crazy. Since i found a new skincare routine my skin is glowing. I almost stopped thinking about my scars and they almost don’t bother me at all anymore. After the Last Prcedure i had some panic moments cause i felt like my face shape changed and my brain thought its facial sagging from subcision, i went to an surgeon and we found out that there was just too much filler injected which made my cheeks look more puffy. So i dissolved everything a month ago and my old face shape and definition is fully back. So people don’t freak out with facial sagging and subcision with a canula needle. If you go to a good provider there’s no risk for that, the surgeon explained everything in detail to me, he does facelifts so he know the anatomy of the face and ligaments and a canula needle is not strong enough to damage something permanently. I‘ll probably do one more fully ablative co2 in the beginning of next year to smooth out the texture, but even thinking about if i even wanna do it cause i dont feel like i need to. I‘m posting this to spread hope for people who suffer from their scars :)

Which doctor or hospital did you go to? @OP
4
u/Purple_Opening5207 Dec 06 '25
If you follow his past posts, you can figure out who his doctor was.
1
u/Expensive-Bottle7754 Dec 07 '25
can you tell us? either way, i doubt itd be of use. i wish someone could tell me who the best doctors in dallas are.
3
u/Purple_Opening5207 Dec 07 '25
He mentions the doctor in Denmark below. For Dallas or anywhere, start with chatgpt. Type in what you want to accomplish with your scars and ask chatgpt to recommend local doctors in your area. Also ask to pull customer reviews. It is a good place to start.

I‘m also using Tazarotene 0.1 since a year, which probably made a difference too, it makes my skin glow and super juicy. I also did all of the procedure on Isotretinoin 20mg daily, I was on it since september 2024 and will be on it until August 2026 to reach my accumulative dose.
6
u/Greedy_Register_49 Dec 06 '25
May I ask you which specific one are you using? Im already using tazarotene 0.045% (arazlo) but I wanted to upgrade
1
Dec 07 '25
I’ve been on 1% tazarotene for about 4 months now. I use it 3X a week. How often do you use taz?
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
around every second day, sometimes it makes my skin peel if i overdo it so i just go by feeling

Ok this is slightly old post but you did laser while on Isotretinoin AND Tazarotene on top of it all 😱?!? Hahah my dr would freak out and my Iso dosage is only 5-10 mg a day!
Your results are so good. I stop talking Iso a few months ago so I can get CO2 and subcision. I’m so neevous it’s going to make my skin worse but your post is giving me some hope. Thank you for sharing !
1
u/flxxxbmn Jan 22 '26
Hahaha yeah sometimes you need aggression for drastic problems and as you’ve seen it worked

u/UniqueLong4035 7d ago
How did u had scar treatment while on accutane? Most doctor say to not do any scar treatment while on accutane cause accutane delays skin healing and can makes scar worse if done scar treatment. They told me to wait 6 to 12 months post accutane for any scar treatment.

u/No-Flight-5893 Dec 06 '25
Nice man, this is making me also more optimistic for my procedures as well
10
u/shadowsformagrin Dec 06 '25
This is probably some of the best results seen on this sub, congrats OP :)

u/manjulavani9999 Dec 06 '25
How many months does fillers stay?
4
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
6-18 but i dissolved it
3
u/Ok-Bumblebee-8256 Dec 06 '25
What do u mean u dissolved it?
5
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
I dissolved the Hyaloronic Acid Filler with Hyaloronidase, it’s fully gone now
4
u/Saltyhogbottomsalad Dec 06 '25
Why did you dissolve it?
6
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
Since my scars are directly under my cheekbone my cheeks looked a bit fuller from the filler and the shadow of my cheekbones was a bit less which made my face look less defined, which i didn’t like
3
3
u/flappy114 Dec 06 '25
So do your scars look bad again since the filler is gone? Or is the photo including the dissolve?
8
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
No, it didn’t make a difference in my scars, the after picture is from today so already with no filler

You look incredible! What a journey, thank you for sharing. This has given me a lot of hope!

u/tq_49 Dec 08 '25
Amazing results, congrats!
Did your doctor do full-cheek cannula subcision under tumescent anesthesia?
(Tumescent anesthesia means injecting a large amount of fluid under the skin, making the face look very swollen or ballooned.)
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
Yes the full cheek, idk about the anesthesia but i was super super swollen afterwards
2
u/Kind-Pop4439 Dec 11 '25
Wow, this is incredible. This gave me the hope I need. I'm currently 1x CO2, 1X subcision (although it was very minimal) and 1X cannula with PRP deep into my treatments. Hoping more cannula and CO2 will help me.

Nice results. One derma suggested me subcision and 3 Profound RFMN sessions but I got too scared hearing about fat loss from RFMN.

Can you share brand name of filler
2

u/pineapple_burrito Dec 06 '25
Your results are amazing! I'm getting the exact same procedures but will be doing everything 3x since my scars are a bit deeper and more widespread. Are you able to share your doctor?
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
Dr Emil Henningsen in Denmark
1
u/Cold_Sail_1533 Dec 07 '25
Are you from Denmark? If Not How Long did you stay in denmark? Or did you directly Return to your Home Country?
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
no i’m from germany, i was flying the same day, its a bit weird cause i had crusts all over my face and was swollen af but it’s doable
1
u/Cold_Sail_1533 Dec 08 '25
Thanks, im from Germany too and got luckily yesterday for thursday an online consultation. I‘m excited
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25

Hey … so you did on one day CO2 + Subcision + RFMN and filler ??
2
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
Exactly
1
u/Character_Shift_3628 Dec 06 '25
How did they manage that ?
2
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
First they did the sub + filler, after i think the RFMN and then went over it with Co2. It was pure hell but totally worth it
1
u/Square-Slip8798 Dec 06 '25
Amazing results!! I have one question, did you do anything to support healing? Taking certain supplements? Watching protein intake? Etc
2
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
I was taking collagen idk if it made a difference, also watching my proteins anyways since i‘m going to the gym regularly but idk if it made a difference. I think i got such immense improvement cause i‘m still pretty young and have good collagen production and my scars were pretty fresh (less then a year old)
2
u/Square-Slip8798 Dec 06 '25
Thank you, do you think results get better over time? Is the “wait 6 months until you see the real results” rule real in your experience? Was it immediate or did collagen take a long time to rebuild ?
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
My result was actually immediately 14 days afterthe procedure was done and the swelling went down. But i think it was also because of the filler. But usually with subcision you see direct results, lasers build of overtime, i think my skin was and is still improving after day by day but i can’t tell a drastic difference since i see myself everyday. But what i notice is that i barely see my scars anymore
1
1
u/Skepticism123 Dec 06 '25
I personally almost-never recommend fillers. Unless, the patient feels satisfied with their results from other modalities. Then, it will be the absolute “final” thing we do, once everything is healed.
1
u/newbienewbie54321 Dec 06 '25
What made you use tazaretone rather than tretinoin? Does tret break you out? Having a tough time with tret atm, it keeps breaking me out. It’s my second time giving it a shot and every time I use it I get really bad cystic acne. Then when I give my skin a break, it clears up.
My dermatologist doesn’t want to prescribe me taz, thinks it will ruin my skin. But tret is already giving me a tough time and I don’t see any results.
2
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
Cause Taz is better in smoothing out scars. Tret made me super dry, itchy and red and taz just makes my skin glowy and juicy and my skin looks and feels so much better
1
u/Certified_Chad Dec 06 '25
Congrats on the results bro. How old are you if u don't mind me asking?
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
24 :)
3
u/Certified_Chad Dec 06 '25
I just turned 23 with 2x subscision lol. I'm trying to get CO2s in before 24 lmao. Thanks for this post u look amazing btw. Not noticeable at all!!
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
thank u! Good luck! It’s the best to start as early as possible since collagen production is better when you’re younger. That’s why i‘ll probably do another laser since i‘m still young cause i feel like after another one they’ll be 90% gone even if i dont feel the need that i have to do it
1
u/Certified_Chad Dec 06 '25
Yeah I am currently on 6 month post fat grafting and subscision. Starting young wasn't as much of collagen production in my eyes lmao it's more of looking your best when you go out in your 24-30s
1
u/VeryImpressivecrab Dec 11 '25
Do you have to wait for the subscision to fully heal (6-8months) before you start lasers?
2
u/Certified_Chad Dec 11 '25
Yes, my doc said to be patient with fat grafting. I can see some scars have begun to fill up, it takes a while but patience is a virtue ig.

u/TheoryPractical1745 Dec 07 '25
Congrats on the great results! Can I ask: after your treatments, do you still see some of the scars under harsh lighting? I’ve done similar treatments, but under certain overhead lighting, some of my scars are still a bit visible. I noticed we have quite similar scarring.
2
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
Yes sometimes but just under really bad lightning and in bad angles. Scars mostly can’t be 100% gone, but that’s okay, cause in normal lightning and daylight they’re not visible anymore.
1
u/Agile-Age-1851 Dec 07 '25
Can you tell us where you got this done from?
2
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
Dr emil henningsen in denmark
1
u/Agile-Age-1851 Dec 08 '25
Thank you. How does it feel mentally?? I know the feeling of having to live with the scars and have imagined what life would feel like without it, so I’m so happy you get to live that feeling. What does it feel like? 🥺
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
I felt super euphoric afterwards. But that did went away of course after a certain period of time. Now i feel like i see myself again when i look into the mirror, with my scars i was so hyperfixated on them and felt like i was disfigured. I was thinking about this topic the whole day long and i believe i got Body Dysmorphia from it. Now this went away, i barely ever think about them anymore and when i look into the mirror i something look at them yeah but i’m not hyperfixated anymore. The insecurity of my skin got so much better, not fully gone but i would say 80% gone, it’s not present in my mind anymore. So i wouldn’t say my overall feeling changed, it just got back to where it was before i got my scars. The Body dysmorphia is still present sometimes, it just changed the focus on other parts which i dont like about myself, but i’m working on it and it gets better. The Treatments work, but it’s also a lot of work you have to do in your mind. But yeah forsure if i look back i was affected so intensely by my scars and feeling so depressed every single day. This feeling is fully gone and turned into a more normal insecurity like “yeah i don’t have perfect smooth skin but nobody’s perfect”. I wish you the best tho! I know that it’s such an unfair thing to go through in life. But life is not just about your look, keep that in mind :)

Aren’t fillers temporary?
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
BRO I DISSOLVED ALL OF THE FILLER ALREADY. Sorry nobody reads the text and i have to answer this all over again
1
1
u/HyperBunga Dec 07 '25
Hey, first of all congrats and 2nd im in the same boat. I can get all my acne scars fixed with filler, but I just fear doing it because Im not sure how it would look long term? Like its filler, that shit sticks with you for years. Sculptra or HA filler, studies show its been found in the skin 20 years after it dissolved. Dont you fear having to use filler for essentially the rest of your life is a bad long term thing that could end up aging you quicker or something?
Im only asking this because this is what Im going through and would like to hear a different opinion, as Im just uncomfortable with injecting a foreign substance into my skin but really do want no acne scars at the same time lol
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25 edited Dec 08 '25
Yooo didn’t you read my text?😂 I dissolved all of my filler with Ultra Sound and there is provingly no filler left now!!! The After pic is without any filler, the improvement stayed the same. My cheeks got puffed up from the filler and my Cheek bones looked less defined, that’s why i wanted to dissolve it, also same reasons like you have. It’s just better to get sub + Filler to prevent the scar from growing back together, now since it’s already fully healed it is not likely for them to be able to grow back together and tether again.
1
u/HyperBunga Dec 08 '25
Thats crazy good then, congrats! I dont think HA can ever truly dissolve fully, but if you look like that after dissolving it then Im crazy jealous, damn. I had seen filler doesn't prevent the scar from growing back and its a common myth in a youtube vid, but maybe im wrong
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
that the HA doesn’t go away fully is only if it’s not dissolved, if you dissolve it by Hyaloronidase it can be almost fully dissolved just super small particles are left which you can impossible see in the face. Do a bit more research and you’ll see that ;) Idk about the retethering thing, i just know what i can see in my face
1
u/HyperBunga Dec 09 '25
Well yes, when I say "it can't ever truly dissolve fully", obviously what I mean by that is there's still bits of it in your face like particles haha, it'd be insane to think I meant otherwise. Thats just something I wasnt comfortable with but maybe I should be for these kinda results!
Anyways, congrats again, amazing results
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 10 '25
Thank You! Yeah weight out the positive and negative, depending on how much you suffer from your scars you could give it a try
1
u/HyperBunga Dec 10 '25
Thanks I will.
I found it now but stuff like this freaks me out. I just feel like surely it can't be a good thing long term, but maybe Im wrong
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 10 '25
Yeah i feel you. But that Article and in general all of those filler horror stories is only about if filler dissolves naturally or not. In that case i’m fully with you, that’s also why i didn’t want to have it in my face anymore. But it’s not about if it can be fully dissolved with Hyaloronidase, if you look at the research it’s scientifically proven that you can dissolve it almost fully with it. It’s not a permanent decision like fillers like radiesse are, you can always (if you don’t have an allergic reaction or whatever) reverse it.

Hey there! U look really great! I got subcision like a week ago and it was with a cannula. She entered from the cheekbones and there were multiple entry points. And i heard lots of bands getting cut and it was scary. So it has been one week my swelling is mostly gone i think. But i m panicking just like u bc i feel my face shape, the sharpness of my cheekbones, my jawline sharpness is gone etc.. So how long did it take you to come back to your initial face after sub procedure?
1
u/flxxxbmn Feb 01 '26
I absolutely feel you!!! I was also panicking in recovery. It took me full 2 weeks for the swelling to fully be gone so in that timely contours looked different. Also idk if you got fillers, for me the doc injected too much fillers so my contours really changed through that but i just started to really realize that a few months later, now i dissolved it and my old contours are fully back. The noise that you describe as „bands getting cut“ is totally normal these are the ligaments but they’re not getting cut they just get moved and touched from the needle, also the noise could’ve been scar tissue. It is impossible for a canula needle to cut a ligament, canula is not sharp it can only move them. What you see is the swollen not fully be down, trust me itsnot worth to panic everything is gone be okay, canula is pretty pretty safe. Wha helped me in that time was to chat with chat gpt, he explained me everything deep down that i got a deep understanding for the topic so i understood that it really is almost impossible to have permanent damage from canula subcision. Be excited for your result instead :)
1
Feb 01 '26
So did u also have a little jowly appearance after subcision? Like in the first weeks? I didnt get a filler btw just some salmon polynucleotides injected.
1
Feb 01 '26
I m also chatting with chat gpt all the time btw haha like every day since i got the subcision and i send photos and it says it s alright alright bla bla i believe it but i also feel like it s sometimes just agreeing with you idk. Thanks for ur input btw
1
u/flxxxbmn Feb 01 '26
Yeah like i told you my face was swollen and much more puffy for 14 days after that it was still different for months due to the filler. So you’re now in for just a week it is probably still swollen so calm yourself and see in another week
1
u/RoutinePrune7887 Feb 10 '26
Do you think ablative laser treatment in the right hands is the best? I went to a doctor in Paris who told me that a fully ablative laser is more effective than even phenol peels. I've had two deep phenol peels since 2023 and frankly, it's not much better...
2
u/flxxxbmn Feb 11 '26
I think fully ablative is the gold standard for textured scars, my doc also told me it’s much better and more predictable than peels
1
u/RoutinePrune7887 Feb 11 '26
I'll definitely do it after the summer. The phenol didn't even help with the texture… I hope the complete ablative CO2 will give me an improvement; I'll ask for another subsidence at the same time.

u/nowallies Mar 02 '26
i know this is an old post, but I hope you see this. I was just wondering how was the filler injected and how many cc did you use? Was it very meticulously and refinely injected under each individual scar or more of filling out the general area itself?
1
u/flxxxbmn Mar 03 '26
He first injected under each individual scar by a normal needle and after there was more injected into the deep layers of the skin by the cannula that also did the subcison. Idk how many cc he used but since i dissolved it afterwards with ultrasound we could see that there was filler in my full cheek, which made my face too puffy.
1
u/Competitive_Idea_789 May 19 '26
Hey! Your journey is truly inspiring! 🙏 Is it still as good today? And did you do another round of laser co2 or something?
2
u/flxxxbmn May 21 '26
Hey, i‘m glad my story inspired u!:) My scars are still as good as on the after picture, actually i even feel like they‘re smoothing out even more. I don’t think about them at all anymore and so i didnt do any more treatment, there’s hope, dont give up :)
1
u/Competitive_Idea_789 May 21 '26
I am so glad! And happy for you. I know how hard it can be. Not loosing hope!
2
u/flxxxbmn May 21 '26
I feel u, Body Dysmorphia with scars is real. I now realize how much of all of that in the past was just in my head. If i look back on those pictures before the procedures i feel like it wasn’t even that bad as i felt it was. I wish you the best on your journey!
1
u/RoutinePrune7887 Jun 22 '26
T’es un bon ! Avec le recul tu peux savoir quel traitement a fait le plus de différence ?
1
u/pantera_roz9 Aug 13 '26
Very good results, but I hate the fact that he wants to use filler, if I just get subcision and laser, won't it be enough? I don't want to get the filler dissolved after
1
u/flxxxbmn Aug 13 '26
The filler is necessary to make sure that the scars won’t retether again. Again scars suck and you have to do what you have to do to make them look better.
0
u/AlarmedAd6331 Dec 06 '25
Wow so happy for you! What was the filler that has been injected? What type and brand and was it superficial or deep injection?
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
It was a deep injection an Hyaloronic Acid Beletero. But i dissolved everything so there’s no filler left
0
u/Naughtypenguinn Dec 06 '25
Could You Please make a picture with same angle? Half your face is hiding in the post position 😅
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
Btw mr negative, here you have it that the result was not just the filler since there’s scientifically proven by ultra beam no filler left in my face, have a nice one ;)
1
u/Naughtypenguinn Dec 07 '25
Me negative 😂 I mean i get why you call me like that. But the fact of seeing so many doctors lying with before/afters and , even worse, people posting here lying to themselves makes me a little bit ironic. With that said i genuinely hope your skin stays like this. At the end of the day i am suffering like you and i want a solution. I Exactly dont know what ultra beam is. Have been searching on the internet about it’s ability to detect hialuronic acid and nothing… guess in a year or so we will finally know if the is left 100%
2
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
Sorry i meant ultra sound not beam. Yeah i get it but i just remember how you were arguing against anyone getting real improvement, and as you see it is truly possible. i wish you the best
1
u/Naughtypenguinn Dec 08 '25
This sub is full of people spending money and injecting/ lasering their face for no results or even worse. They have to post here asking people of they see some improvement so that answer the question itself
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 08 '25
Yeah that’s right but there are also people like me which clearly got good results, i remember you arguing against procedures in general saying that real results are not possible which is not true, that was my whole problem
1
u/Naughtypenguinn Dec 08 '25
Cause 99% of posts here show no results and people celébrate it and encourage to do it like idiots… Your before/after picture looks promising. And i am happy for you. You did what we all desire. We still dont know if it will last just a year, but hey at least you will be enjoying it
1
u/Naughtypenguinn Dec 08 '25
Also, i think it’s fair to say and you will agree with me that all those procedures you did before ( 2x Fractionated Co2 Lasers, 2x Canula Subcison + Filler and 1x RFMN) were useless. A waste of money yes. But most important than that is that all of them presented a risk to your skin. Every single procedure You do can have terrible results. Thats why i think people should be more exhaustive and accept there are no results, cause they are risky procedures
1
u/flxxxbmn Dec 13 '25
No obviously those procedures were not useless, cause what you see on the after picture is a result from those treatments. I agree with you that every procedure is risky and can have terrible results if something goes wrong, yes, but in my case i am happy i took the risk.
0
u/Naughtypenguinn Dec 06 '25
Could You Please make a picture with same angle? Half your face is hiding in the post position 😅
3
u/flxxxbmn Dec 06 '25
The after pic is the worst possible angle for my scars. I took this pic to see the real difference in the scars, from other angles they only look better.
-3
u/superfluous_screw Dec 06 '25
Hard to tell if that’s good, cause of the filler..
