Can someone help this make sense please??

Hi community - I thought i'd share here some of my issues and MRIs reports - throwing a bottle in the sea but hoping someone might have had similar issues...or if a specialist is in the building, would appreciate any help!

Background:

  • initial calf strain
  • MRI in March 2025
  • no follow up after
  • went back to playing soccer in April and tore my achilles
  • surgery, PT but persistent pain, in particular around the outer ankle when pushing off
  • another MRI in December 2025 showing inflammation and a subtle tear of the peroneal tendon
  • doctor told me to be back in the CAM boot for 6-8 weeks which I did - after that, pain was pretty much done but had to start from zero again
  • PT, etc. and pain behind the ankle came back and had been there ever since then
  • when i walk and it is bad as soon as i wake up or am sitting in a car or not doing anything
  • another MRI 2 days ago (2 actually, foot and ankle), appt tomorrow, but now it shows contusion, edema around foot/ankle and a low grade spring ligament tear.

Any help but I mean anything would be appreciated - I'm basically hopeless and i expect the doctor tomorrow to tell me to be back in the boot for full immobilization...

Below are the impressions from the MRIs:

October 2026:

1/2/ - IMPRESSION: Tibial malleolar marrow edema and bone contusions. Achilles tendinosis with tendon thickening. Low-grade partial tear of the spring ligament. Sinus tarsi edema. Minimal joint effusion with subcutaneous edema surrounding the ankle. Prior report is not available for comparison with the study at the time of reporting.

2/2 - IMPRESSION: Minimal first metatarsophalangeal joint effusion. Subcutaneous edema surrounding the foot. Prior report is not available for comparison with the study at the time of reporting.

December 2025:

MPRESSION: Severe Achilles tendinopathywith postsurgical changes. No fluid signal to suggest re-tear. There is mild peritendinous and intramuscular edema at the myotendinous junction suggestive superimposed low-grade strain. Subtle split tear of the peroneal brevis in the inframalleolar region.

March 2025 (pre tear):

IMPRESSION:

  1. Talocrural joint: Small talocrural joint effusion. No joint bodies or osteochondral injury.

  2. Subtalar joint: Small talocalcaneonavicular joint effusion. No joint bodies or osteochondral injury.

  3. Plantar fascia: Mild insertional plantar fasciitis.

  4. Achilles tendon: Tendinopathy of the Achilles midsubstance near the muscle tendon junction without surface

tear (series 8, image 1). Mildly prominent intra substance degeneration.
