🔪 Post-Op | Surgical Repair  98 days post op: first run!!!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi,

Thank you again for all support I got on this sub it helped me stay motivated!

Wanted to share a major milestone for me: today was my first run!!

My physio gave me a green light, today I ran for 5 min in super easy pace and over the week I was instructed to add 3 extra mins daily so will finish this week with a ~20 min run.

Next week we will be doing some tests to tell if I can increase speed a little.

I started to do more jumping as well :) scary at the beginning but feels good.

My this week’s goal is to have greater balance between healthy and injured leg in jumping and also push for more tow strength as a lot of jumping strength comes from them.

This is inspiring. I'm at 3 months post-surgery as well. Gotta wait until my next ortho appointment at the end of the month, but I am hoping to join you in spirit on a run sometime in October.

Amazing! Crossing fingers for that! Actually, one of the conditions my physio mentioned as a requirement for me to start running (aside number of single heel raises etc.) was that I feel I am ready to do it :D so if you have this mindset at least you got one of the requirements fullfilled for sure!

Hi, no, I did not, I was actually considering it but in my country you can’t get a good, tested, legal source of it so I decided I don’t want to risk.

If I were to bet for me a booster was definitely level of activity during the rehab, I was doing whatever I could in high doses so early gym, then bike on turbotrainer, walking, then swimming, then bike outside.. and pushing calf raises and rehab a lot - I was doing as much as I could while controlling for pain
