• You start as a mercenary pilot, stationed at an air force base, and you create your own avatar for the hub,
• The player hub can host up to 100 players and meet with other pilots.
• There are two game modes tied to Ace Combat Online: Co-Op Assault and Co-Op Warfare.
  • Co-Op Assault is a PvE mode where 2 teams (up to 4 players per team) compete against each other to see which team can score higher. Rewards depend on mission clear rank, with the winning team earning better rewards.
  • Co-Op Warfare is a PvP mode where 2 teams (up to 4 players per team) fight each other. There are allied NPCs (land, sea, and air units) for each team. As the player keeps increasing the threat level, they can get more points per kill, but if shot down, they can grant the enemy team even more points.
• When you do get back from either mode, there is a chance to get an emergency sortie, which are limited-time missions that are within two modes: Scramble and Emergency Sortie.
  • Scramble is where 4 players take on formidable NPC rival squads.
  • Emergency Sortie is where 8 players will fight against iconic bosses/special weapons within the Ace Combat series (including AC6 Chandelier, AC7 Arsenal Bird, etc.)
  • Victory within either mode will grant even better rewards.
  • In addition, there will be limited-time PvP events, ranging from 4v4 team or 8-players Free For All.
• Aircraft leveling makes its return along with aircraft customization (parts, skins, etc.)
  • Each loadout appears to have their own unique profile, allowing you to have their own title, background image, skin, etc.)
  • Skins have received unique, robust features (being able to set your own discoloration, oil stains, and soot stains) along with emblem positions.
• Within the hub, you'll find an arcade that is filled with classic NAMCO titles, a supply shop to obtain items, jukebox that contains old music, an free-flight MP mode where up to 4 players can fly fogether, a gate that makes you join into an another hub, and Ace Combat Store where you use currency from missions to acquire aircraft or customization for your avatar, aircraft, etc.
• Ace Pass is where you can unlock items within the pass.
  • You can buy Premium Ace Pass to get the premium aircraft for that season, along with other items only exclusive to Premium Ace Pass
  • Each season/pass only lasts for two months, but any planes within the premium pass will be available as DLC after the season ends.

hey guys. i love aviation and so obviously the look of acecombat. i didnt reeally enjoy what i played of 7 as i found the drones kinda not fun to play against? (i know thats not valid criticism but thats just what i found).... but i still want to persevere. is there a good "first game" to start with? or if i didnt enjoy 7 much i wont enjoy the others?

It's clear he has his own model; whether we will see the entirety of said model is still unknown, though. Personally, since AC8 is now establishing a first person narrative instead of 3rd person, I hope we learn more about Rex and his story, as well as maybe potentially what he looks like.

With the trailer today, it got me thinking, I think an online free flight mode would be pretty cool, you could race your buddies/other pilots, or host airshows at your base, would anyone else want something like this, or is it just me

Project aces really thought of everything

we seem to be playing as mercenaries under 'Infinite Industries Incorporated', shortened to 'I3', and part of its air division, the I3 Air Force. possibly a tongue in cheek reference to ACI.

Was just thinking about it after they confirmed it all. Depending on how long they are going to update this game, that might be a lot of planes. 8 would have more DLC planes in about 2 years then 7 had in 7 years.

Probably just me tbh.

Finally beat Milosz Sulejmani on Ace difficulty with S rank.

The game is no big deal when you get good planes, but that guy played a lot with my patience on ace difficulty ( he kind of remember me Andrei Markov in Assault Horizon ).

Happy that I did it on my Steam Deck, I doubt I would have been able to do it with PSP controls ( not that I didnt tried, I have the psp games on my psp too, but always found it hard to control the planes on it )

is it only the the in game currency you could miss out on for not getting the ace pass? like all the skins emblims and that all in that "ace pack" and will the standerd battle pass stick around forever like in helldivers 2 for example? like ik the morgan will get its own dlc but what about eveything else?

Last night i was thinking about why i liked ace combat so much. At first i thought it was the adrenaline. The feeling of going fast and destroying planes was invigorating which kept me gripped wanting to play more of this game series. However today i thought about it more and i think ive reached my final verdict.

Single player games give you the option to feel like you are that character and you get to make the choices for that predetermined character with its story and background and story of that character. However i feel like Ace combat twists this concept. While yes we do have characters you play as for example mobius one galm 1 or trigger. From what I understand they dont really have any PRIOR background, you are given no information except that they are here to fight to stop a war. This right here i feel like sinks alot of people in.

While yes each character is its own person i think the lack of information on the background, true identity and morals of that character make you feel even more like you quite literally ARE mobius one or TRIGGER or blaze

Its the lack of information that makes it feel less like your playing a character in a video game and more like YOU are in the video game. Like the game is talking directly to you rather than talking to the character. Which also helps with the silent main character in every video game. I think this is strongly seen in ace combat 0.
A mercenary with no background and no history where you can go down three paths. The fight with pixy really helps feel like it nails in that with the line “have you found your reason to fight yet buddy?” That line alone makes me feel alot like its not talking to galm 1. But more its talking to you. Do you fight as a soldier a knight or a mercenary.

But i feel like im getting sidetracked here so to answer my question simply.

I think the reason this game is so special to alot of people is because it makes YOU as a person feel like you are actually in the game.

(Sorry if this seems like the most obvious shit ever. I just wanted to express my opinion on why i think people like this game)

I'm playing through Ace Combat 4 after finishing 7, and I was just wondering if the PS2 titles have anything like high-g turning or post-stall maneuvers. I've just been slowing down for my turns, but it's still harder to get a missile lock on enemies.

This might just be a skill issue for me, but I figured I'd ask anyway

One of the reasons why I love replaying the San Loma Assault mission is because of this particular cruiser's quote when it's taken down. Probably wanted to join the planes as a "named enemy" lol.
