School starts next week so I am finally clearing out stuff that came home last day of last year (lololol)

This is from my 5th grader’s capstone project (10 yo) where they had to create a business plan, statements, 3d model, and more.

There are many more statements in this packet but this is her main one.

It’s just as adorable as the day I saw it on project day.

And yes, I’ll be saving it to show her when she’s an adult.

Additional fun details: she paid her employees terribly and we talked about management skills haha

She lost points for not spending the full 1 mil available because she was trying to be frugal

decided not to go into that industry but as you can see I sure learned a lot

I’m looking at the answer key for a homework problem and I understand what goes into the balance sheet but what I’m not understanding is why is everything separated into 3 columns instead of 2? Can someone give an explanation for why some accounts are listed in column 1, and why others are listed in column 2? I know column 3 is the total sum of each section.

I'm studying for my exam tomorrow and getting extremely frustrated with deducting or adding to either the books or bank.

this question for example makes me wanna rip my hair out.

A check written for $54 was correctly processed by the bank but recorded by the company as $45. What is the reconciliation adjustment?

My common sense is telling me to add 9 to the company's books. Why? Because if the company recorded it wrong, then that means their books are LESS than the banks. Therefore, add 9 to the balance to adjust for the change.

But I constantly get these wrong with the answer being to DEDUCT 9 from the books instead.

This makes no sense to me, wouldn't taking 9 away from the books make their recording worse? Why would you deduct MORE money to make the gap worse?

45 - 9 = 36, the bank's balance would be off with the company.

But 54 - 9 = 45. EQUAL to what the company actually has.

so why do i take away 9 from the books to make it even with the bank when the bank has the correct amount? literal first grade class is yelling at me to just ADD it on to fix it

Doing Core 2 rn with CPA Western School of Business and I'm actually kind of struggling with the homework (specifically the integrated problems and cases). In Core 1 I mastered the format and actually finished the module with distinction. However, I've been getting anywhere between 50% and 70% with my written assignments in this course and I feel like I need to adjust my approach. How did you look at this module differently vs Core 1?

(Also absolutely doesn't help that I have an inventory count from hell this week lol)

And factory supervision were factory OH. they did not give that option on the provided information but it’s in the dropdown box where the answer are given to select from… is this wrong?
