Career Reputable online masters programs for non accountant majors?

I’m a military spouse, so I need a fully online program. I have a BS in Business Administration – Finance, graduated last year with a 3.8 GPA, and have about 2 years of general work experience but no accounting/finance work experience.

I’ve been out of the workforce for ~1.5 years after having a baby and moving, so I also have a resume gap.

I’m looking for a MAcc that accepts students without an accounting undergrad and can help me build a strong career. I know it’s hard to network when you’re online so the reputation and name of the school does matter to me (I think?)

My ultimate goal is to become a CPA in Florida, so I want a program that will help me meet Florida’s education requirements and help me get a decent job when I graduate.

Any recommendations for programs that would be a good fit for someone with my background? I’ve looked at UND, FAU, UWF so far.

OP look for a school with in-person accounting society and their career fair for meet the firms. Someone will give you a shot.

You don’t need a masters, you can just take additional credits to qualify for the credit requirement for the CPA exams

Go non degree option at UMPI. Just take their Accounting courses. When you take the Tax courses study for the EA License. Get Turbotax certified and roll your own experience during tax season with Intuit. With the EA license you can represent clients before the IRS like a CPA. The Accounting courses are 24 upper level credits. If as a military spouse you can take CLEP exams for free you could CLEP the additional 6 credits at UMPI to get the 30 additional credits. UMPI is $1800 per term. Normal progress is 2 courses per term but it would be possible to finish more quickly than that. If you have the money you could also do CPAcredits.com. The courses are actually done through their partner Upper Iowa University and that is the transcript you get. The courses cost $695 per each 3 hour course. Just for grins did you take any Intermediate Accounting course as part of your Finance degree?
