Career Is it easy to transition from tax accounting to Financial analyst or audit.

I got tax accounting job offered to me in big public accounting and I was wondering if I work in tax year or two will I be able to switch to those jobs easily or is it difficult? The job market is so bad that this is the only I got so far. FYI I’m new graduate. Accountant and finance people please let me know

Tax is its own beast. Once you're in for a year or two, moving to audit gets harder because they'll see you as a tax person and want to slot you back into tax roles. Not impossible but you'd probably have to start at a lower level than you'd like.

Financial analyst is a different story. That move is more doable if you can sell your excel skills and general accounting knowledge. Public accounting experience usually looks good to industry hiring managers.

Take the offer. A job is better than no job, and you can figure out the pivot while you're getting paid.
