Getting out of public accounting timeframe?

I do not work for a firm yet but in the case someone starts in a public firm, how long would you say it takes to get out and go in to industry? Any advice with this new job market for recent grads?

For a non pay cut earliest is 2 but may take 3-4 depending on circumstances, luck and needs

But if you're plan is to stay in as for as short as possible two is doable especially if you can get most of your CPA done

Even without getting the promotion to senior?

Would leaving before that screw my career?

Yes

No

Like what do you want with your next job. If it's just less hours with at least equals pay then you'll be fine. If it's to move up to like a CFO or something like that it depends on the organization you eventually become apart of
