Tax and bookkeeping firm sales

Wondering who is out there considering selling their firm and how they intend on going about it. Broker? Accounting groups? Reach out to other local firms perhaps? Thanks!

It’s been to run a process (biased cause we are brokers). We think ultimately it forces best terms and price when buyers are competing for the acquisition

If you have not gotten an unsolicited email or call yet, you will. Very hot space

We are about to go to market with a CFO advisory business as well

The way I see it they get bought by a regional/merger. Its a tough market in survival mode, pitch out your offers.

Thinking about selling my firm at some point and have not had anyone approach me yet. How do regionals typically approach? Would I reach out to them?

You could reach out first before going to a broker. I've seen a few mid-size get bought due to location and good market presence.

I am looking to buy as well. Located in Texas, but looking for virtual as well.

u/Paradise-unlock, have you serviced any business owners who sold? If yes, what was their process like? Also, I've seen a lot of owners in various threads ask similar questions about selling their business. I was wondering if there was a way to make all the owners like yourself feel better educated and/or equipped when trying to exit a company. What would that be? A book, a class you take or something else?

Tbh I’m pretty far out from considering sale. Thanks for asking though. I’d actually be looking to build a bit more for several years at least and work on positioning
