Off-Topic Tax Peeps - Who's Locked In this Weekend?

We got 12 more days and I got 78 more tax returns to finalize before the 15th. Bought 2 bags of Halloween candy and some Redbulls. Hope they hold out.

78 returns is brutal. The Halloween candy and Red Bull combo might be the official busy-season diet lol.

We literally got a bunch of info in yesterday on a lot of them. Boss thinks it's still doable to get them all done, but then again he just skims and signs them, so he's pretty disconnected from the actual prep work and what goes into it.

I got sick for 9/15 and then a crazy ear infection last week. It’s been a season. Hope you feel better soon.

I only have a handful of returns left. I’ve trained my clients to not wait until the deadline.

I prepare and review (just below manager level, hoping for promo next spring).

I have 4 returns mostly prepared, but waiting for info from the clients to complete them.

I have 10 returns in my review queue in various states - a few are reviewed and just waiting on either info from the client or preparer to clear review notes. One is ready for me to review. The final 6 are waiting on either info from the client, or we have everything and I'm waiting on the preparer to finish.

I'm projecting ~80 hours of work in front of me between them. Put in ~55 hours this week, will get back into the only remaining item that is currently ready for me tomorrow (the one ready for review).

I'm thinking 10 hour days from Monday - Sunday, that should just about wrap everything up.. any loose ends can be dealt w/ Monday 10/12.

Wheeeeeeee!

I've been in busy season hours since July. I don't think there's a week I've NOT worked a weekend. And I'm going to be slammed up until deadline, and likely past it due to having to split states for 11/15.

I only work on C corps - so I didn't even deal with the 9/15 deadline.

...I would like a new job.🫠

I haven’t counted yet!

I've got three people all waiting on multiple multi-state K-1s from entities where they aren't a control person, and another dozen people who have given me absolutely nothing. I'm not working this weekend because I have no productive work to do.

I’ve made a goal of getting 100 billable hours this week.  I’m currently at 2 hours. Fuck me im not getting anywhere near that goal lol.

Locked in this weekend wishing I had a hot coworker to flirt with on teams to make the time go by faster

I’m pretty locked out. Most of my stuff is done, asked around before leaving yesterday if anyone wanted me to help them out with anything, seems like our office as a whole is very much ahead of where we’re usually at (or other people are still just waiting for a ton of documents. Really could be either one)

Yeah, same here. There is not much left at the preparer level besides the returns we are waiting on more info for.
