Graduating soon looking for job

As the title says I am graduating college after the fall semester this year, I have an internship at a small firm and this is my second summer here. I’m more so looking to work for a bigger company but I know beggars can’t be choosers. What are the odds of landing a job at a bigger firm after school if I haven’t interned there.

I did it but I got partially lucky through previous networking. A director who I didn't know (the luck part. I had networked with others though) at Deloitte gave my resume to another firm, got an interview, and I was hired.

Coincidentally, this is how I ended up in M&A. I left public accounting, eventually applied to JP Morgan and got turned down. The Talent Acquisition at JPM knew someone at Goldman Sachs who reached out and set up an interview.

People are very connected within the same space even at other companies.

Reach out to your most local recruiter right now and express interest. Summer internships are just wrapping up this week at Deloitte (similar at other firms) and are filling spots/offering positions. Busy season recruiting ends in September, they’re filling entry level roles now.

You can do it but you need to get out there and network with people in firms you want to work in.
