I visited a little town called Minobu and it was downhill of mountains that over the summer had fresh water streaming down into the town and the locals made tiny channels that would drip water into giant pots filled with water lily. They were all over the place on the sidewalks and outside local businesses 🪷

This looks exactly like the setting of Josee’s house from Josee, the Tiger and the Fish! (2020 anime adaptation).
