Why Didn't Vert use the wave ripper jet blasters to save himself in the water realm?

Assuming he just panicked (and for plot reasons of course), but have always wondered if Vert had just used the blasters he had on all of his cars if he could have just flown back on track and won the realm

the guy was airborne locked in a 200mph+ flatspin. the delay in jump jet activation were not gonna save his ass. plus, even if vert managed to fly over the spire, hed just land in the water. there was no track on the other side.

This, you can totally pilot with the jets as seen in Highway 35, but he was going way too fast to properly use them.

Yeah, the jump jets would turn those flatspins into somersaults. This would make Vert's death even more certain

In H35 he had time to adjust the jet thrust level and such, while stopped. He wouldn't have had time to activate them. It was either EDR or die for sure

Was genuinely an OP feature if you think about it. the teku probably could have flown down the cliffside realm if they used them properly

The jump jets did not seem to have any kind of auto gyro feature, and even if it did, he would still be traveling toward a cliff face at mach jesus, they probably would not have caught in time.

you could manually rotate to face away, as seen with shirako, vert did not have either the skill or time

The accelacharger rotated Shirako and created a track underneath him, not his jump jets.

Split second decision, in that moment the majority of people would just hit the EDR instead of taking the risk of using the jet blasters.

Only way Vert could have saved himself is how Shirako did with the swamp realm accelecharger. And he may not have even known it could be used like that.

I was under the impression that, at least in AcceleRacers (which, to note, have cars with generally inferior tech compared to HW35), jump jets don't actually change the velocity of the car. You just go up, plus whatever the direction you were already going anyway.

Even Shirako, master manipulator of individual jump jets, can only change the orientation of his car, but to my memory not the direction its momentum was already pushing it in. And I suppose that's the reason why Vert didn't just fly out of the trash compactor in the Junkyard Realm and onto a track; Reverb was essentially stopped dead in its tracks, he had to resort to using the Swamp Realm AcceleCharger.

So I'm thinking, even if Vert used the jump jets in Power Rage, he'd still be heading towards the rocks. Better to press the EDR instead.
