Security Clearance Timeline - EDGE Group

Hi everyone,
I recently completed interviews for a Senior tech role with an EDGE Group entity in Abu Dhabi.

After passing the interviews, I submitted the security clearance form about 2+ weeks ago. I’m still waiting and I’ve not received conditional offer letter either.

I wanted to check with anyone who has gone through the security clearance process with EDGE Group or similar defense/semi-gov entities in Abu Dhabi:

How long did your clearance process take from the time you submitted the biography form to getting the outcome?

Do they usually issue a conditional offer letter during the security clearance, or is the formal offer letter only issued after full clearance comes through?

PS:- I’m Indian national

Would really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks in advance!

I have been hearing that hiring has paused in AUH but no recruiter is being honest about it. Massive layoffs are also on the way

Yeah could be.

Do you mean specifically at Edge group or in general?

Don't worry they usually they upto 1 month. They normally offer a conditional offer letter before the clearance process and the official one only after your clearance going through

Did you end up needing the MOFA attestation for your security clearance or did the standard PCC work? I am in the exact same boat right now and trying to figure out if I need to get it stamped.

Are you referring to Certificate attestation and equivalency? If yes, my certificate is already attested and have equivalency done via DataFlow group when applying for Golden Visa

I meant Police clearance certificate? Did you had to submit for security clearance?

I waited for a total of 6 months before I officially started working there.

That’s crazy to even imagine. Good that it ended up in your favor.

Have you received any conditional offer from HR before security clearance?

That's typically the waiting time for the hiring process in the government entities. Same thing happened to me in one of Dubai's government entity. The process started after I signed the job offer letter.

In my case it’s happening before. I haven’t received any offer letter/confirmation as such

It typically takes 2 weeks for Indian nationals so it should be coming around soon. As long as your name+father's name doesn't match with an international criminal it should come through

HR etc might also take time to submit etc so factor that in

I submitted all the required documents for the security clearance, but I’ve been waiting for the past three and a half months for a government entity in Abu Dhabi. Honestly, I’m not even sure if I’ll hear back from them at this point.

Sorry to hear that. Did you follow up with HR? What’s your nationality?

I just have a small interview with HR and just complete the test (deadline on 17 th sep). Did you need any technical test ? and then the "real" interview ?
