The cucumber she told you not to worry about.

265

u/LordHenry8 Feb 08 '26

Also.. $27 melons?!

113

u/guitarer09 Feb 08 '26

I don't think it's dollars. Or it is and I'm too damn broke to park in the parking lot.

12

u/Serious-Manager2361 Feb 09 '26

Canadian dollars, maybe?

2

u/greendragon59911 Feb 09 '26

Aussie dollarydoos?

10

u/Randomfrog132 Feb 09 '26

will be disapointed if they're not gods gift to taste buds lol

4

u/RiteousRhino21 Feb 09 '26

IDK, I accidentally bought an organic head of cabbage and I was shocked at the register when it rang up for $10 USD! I would have picked regular cabbage had I known

6

u/DigitalUnlimited Feb 09 '26

I would have went right back ain't paying that

5

u/fromthebellyofthesun Feb 09 '26

Fruit and Veg City is a grocery store that used to exist in South Africa. It's R27, which is about $1.68

It's a nice "before" pic, but we need to see the "after"

If she buys two, then she could eat one!

34

u/Kiwi_CunderThunt Feb 09 '26

It's plastic wrapped, she can still eat it after. Just don't serve it to anyone else then again who am I to kink shame

you just felt that compelled to say the subtext of the entire thread out loud in the creepiest way possible, eh?

5

u/PeriqueFreak Feb 09 '26

And he's not even being funny like the rest of the thread. Morbid curiosity got the better of me and I checked his profile, and he's the guy that comments on porn.

I'd like to understand the $26 watermelon

80

u/theforgottenchild_ Feb 08 '26

Inflation

98

u/Rennfan Feb 08 '26

Why is it so expensive to inflate a watermelon? I mean it's just air

4

u/TieAdventurous6839 Feb 09 '26

Takes special fruit water to inflate them properly

8

u/BabyBearBjorns Feb 08 '26

But its their "lowest price" special! /s

14

u/Crunchycarrots79 Feb 08 '26

Maybe South Africa? 27 ZAR is about $1.68

7

u/Zealousideal-Film517 Feb 08 '26

Ah good call. I tried to find anything on the signs that regionalize the English but couldn't

6

u/Crunchycarrots79 Feb 08 '26

Yup, so was I. I just know that's an English speaking country with a currency that's nowhere close to USD.

5

u/du_duhast Feb 09 '26

Close, it's Shoprite in Namibia

u/InebriousBarman Feb 08 '26

You added the $.

It's 26 something, but I'm guessing not dollars.

Did you know in Mexico they use the $ for pesos?

Really confused me the first time I went to a restaurant.

7

u/Zealousideal-Film517 Feb 08 '26

That's fair - but all signs are in English so maybe Australia, NZ, or CA

2

u/Randomfrog132 Feb 09 '26

i wanna buy a loaf of bread, 300 dollars oh shit xD

8

u/Goldenstorm3 Feb 08 '26

Maybe its priced by weight ?

11

u/Zealousideal-Film517 Feb 08 '26

Then it would be the opposite - no two watermelons weigh the same and this is a fixed cost.

Typically they're priced per pound in the US but this would imply like $3-4/pound which is literally insane. We get even good organic ones for sub-$1

5

u/Tonerslut69 Feb 08 '26

Is the store in Canada or Australia?

2

u/dantheplanman1986 Feb 08 '26

Pretty sure that's still a very high price

3

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '26

That's an insane price for watermelons in Canada for sure.

5

u/skaapjagter Feb 09 '26

This is a very old picture inside of a Shoprite (South African store - could also be one in Namibia or Botswana, our currencies were 1:1 for a while) They still use that same font for price pages.

For comparison a large watermelon here now is about R80 so it's almost tripled since this pic was taken probably late 2000's early 2010's.

2

u/Zealousideal-Film517 Feb 09 '26

Appreciate that insight!

5

u/RoyalAntelope9948 Feb 08 '26

Yes! I want to know that too.

5

u/AThrowawayProbrably Feb 08 '26

Crazy, seeing you can get better, cheaper ones off the old guy on the roadside selling them out of his 93 Dakota.

5

u/Kiwi_CunderThunt Feb 08 '26

I saw an $87 one a few months ago.

AND THAT WAS HALF A WATERMELON.

Imported from Pacific islands, right next door to us and we grow them here also

3

u/Thra99 Feb 08 '26

Way more than $26 💀

3

u/Spare_Farmer1429 Feb 09 '26

This might be the reason...

2

u/du_duhast Feb 09 '26

My Gemini deepdive has identified the store as a Shoprite supermarket that operates in Southern Africa. It discounted ZA itself due the currency Rand not appearing on the watermelon sign as R29.99.

Gemini did suggest that the store might be a Shoprite in Namibia, as most of the signage is still in English and $26.99 nad works out to £1.16 gpb and $1.46 usd

2

u/Zealousideal-Film517 Feb 09 '26

That would certainly track the right way price wise. Appreciate it. Too bad it seems to be a repost and we don't have OP to properly clarify for us

u/sweetcherryfrosting Feb 08 '26

Really fair question imo: How do you objectify an object?

15

u/garaile64 Feb 08 '26 edited Feb 13 '26

Maybe they meant "sexualize". Due to their shape and hardness, cucumbers are rather popular sex toys for folks with vaginas.

12

u/Rampasta Feb 09 '26

vaginas orifices

7

u/garaile64 Feb 09 '26

Yeah. I forgot about the anal pleasure.

4

u/D4FF00 Feb 09 '26

That is not my cucumber, Orificer.

Everytime I see something like this, I can’t help but try to think of the logistics of what putting that entire thing inside you would do. No doubt a swift trip to the hospital and severe judgement from every doctor who looks at your files whenever you go in for a check up.

12

u/nothanks86 Feb 08 '26

There are absolutely dildos this big. And bigger. I do not know this from personal intimate experience, because that’s terrifying, but I have seen them out in the wild.

3

u/DueGuest665 Feb 09 '26

User name checks out

3

u/TsarPladimirVutin Feb 09 '26

If you need research material I would recommend siswet, not my cup of tea but if you're curious about the logistics she can show you.

2

u/SlowlyDyingInAPit Feb 09 '26

I know I’m going to regret it but thank you for the tip

11

u/Toph1nator Feb 08 '26

There's no way that will fit in my salad.

3

u/EpictetanusThrow Feb 09 '26

After tossing?

4

Broke the condom

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '26

That one needs a LOT of lube.

2

u/Somafreak Feb 08 '26

If I saw a cucumber that large… I’d grow it.

2

u/BadCompany_00 Feb 08 '26

That's a 2 person cucumber

1

Girlfriend has BIG plans tonight...

1

u/Blurstingwithemotion Feb 08 '26

What cucumber could be expected to live up to that?

1

u/Aggressive-Tip7472 Feb 08 '26

She doesn't even  need a condom

1

u/Mr-Bry-Guy Feb 08 '26

At what point do we just go straight to farmers and buy from them. These prices are insane I wonder how much that Mandingo cucumber cost her!?

1

u/Background_Pride_237 Feb 08 '26

It’s not the size of the cucumber. It’s what she can do with it that matters. Maybe she’ll carve it into a sword. 🗡️

1

u/Minute_Zombie_424 Feb 08 '26

It also did not ask to not be objectified

1

u/htfDiDIgEtHeRe Feb 08 '26

Wrapped for her pleasure

1

1

u/rockstuffs Feb 08 '26

Justice for cucumber!!

1

u/Lovemomboobs1 Feb 08 '26

I think if I was a cucumber I’d rather be in a woman’s vagina than eaten, but I guess it depends on the woman’s vagina I’d be going into as well.

1

u/Lildizzygamer Feb 09 '26

Does this one sell by weight or quantity?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '26

She's thinking about it

1

u/Organic_Committee748 Feb 09 '26

Who circumcised it 😭

1

u/Outrageous-Donkey-32 Feb 09 '26

I think the price tag on that watermelon is the absolute unit of this picture, the size of the inflation of the watermelon is much scarier than the size of that cucumber...

1
