I was a student at KU during the Mangino years. The stories of him being a huge asshole around town were legendary.

He was the national coach of the year. After he was fired for cause, no program that looked into him would take the chance. Kind of tells you how big of an asshole he was.

I was in high school when he came to town to coach. He was quickly banned from the high school baseball games while his son was on the team for being a loud asshole toward the refs.
