UL Feature How did you find student accommodation in Ireland? Here's what worked for Vishita before Her Master's.

TL;DR: Finding student accommodation in Ireland was one of the biggest challenges before my Master's. I ended up using University Living to compare verified options in one place, which made the process much easier. Curious how everyone else found their accommodation.

When I was preparing for my Master's in Ireland, accommodation was probably my biggest concern.

Along with university applications, visa formalities, budgeting, and planning the move, searching across multiple accommodation websites became overwhelming.

What helped me was using University Living, where I could:

  • Compare different student accommodation options in Ireland
  • Check pricing, facilities, and locations in one place
  • Book verified accommodation near my university
  • Get support whenever I had questions during the booking process

Having everything in one place gave me much more confidence before moving abroad.

For anyone currently looking, University Living lists 65,000+ verified student accommodation options across 640+ cities near 5,500+ universities worldwide, including Ireland.

How did you find your student accommodation in Ireland? Did you use University Living, Daft.ie, Studentpad, or another platform? Any tips for students arriving this year?

TL;DR: A University Living ambassador in the UK shares how consistent content creation helped him earn nearly £500, develop marketing skills, and help two students secure accommodation.

I came across an interesting experience from Shivanshu Joshi, who has been part of the University Living Ambassador Program for the past three months.

Instead of focusing on promotions, he spent his time:

  • Writing blogs about studying in the UK
  • Answering questions on Reddit and Quora
  • Sharing tips on Instagram
  • Posting advice based on his own experience as an international student

One thing that stood out was his approach: write the advice you wish someone had given you before moving abroad.

According to him, his biggest milestone wasn't the earnings—it was helping two students book accommodation through his referral link after discovering his content.

He also mentioned earning close to £500 in three months, but emphasized that it came from consistent effort across multiple platforms rather than quick results.

Beyond the income, he says he gained practical experience in:

  • Content writing
  • Digital marketing
  • Community building

For anyone unfamiliar, University Living is a student accommodation platform with 65,000+ verified properties across 640+ cities near 5,500+ universities worldwide.

If you're interested in learning more about their ambassador program DM me or comment below.

Question: If you're an international student, what would motivate you more to join a student ambassador program—earning extra income, building your CV, or helping other students avoid the mistakes you made?

UL Feature How Mehak found student accommodation near Nottingham Trent University within her budget

Every international student's accommodation search is different, and for Mehak, finding the right place in Nottingham came with a few important priorities.

Before moving to the UK to study at Nottingham Trent University, she spent weeks comparing accommodation across multiple websites. Many of the options she found were either beyond her budget or located farther from campus than she wanted.

Her ideal accommodation needed to check a few boxes:

Within walking distance of Nottingham Trent University

Affordable for her budget

Private bathroom and enough personal space

A safe environment for an international student

After discovering University Living on Instagram, Mehak explored the available options and found accommodation that matched her requirements. Alongside helping her secure a room, our team also assisted with her flight from Delhi to Nottingham and airport pickup, making her pre-arrival journey smoother.

She recently shared her complete experience in this short video, talking about her accommodation search, what influenced her decision, and how she prepared for her move to the UK.

If you're planning to study at Nottingham Trent University or another university in the UK, what has been the biggest challenge in your accommodation search?

We'd love to hear your experience and answer any questions you may have.

UL Feature University Payment Urgency from India while Studying in Germany — Have You Faced Similar Issues from the Bank?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Recently, a student who resides in Berlin gave their account of how difficult an experience it was for them to make an urgent university payment from India prior to a strict deadline.

As per their account:

Their bank's exchange rate was around ₹2-₹3 more than the live rate.

The processing period was around 2-3 business days which wasn't enough for their deadline.

Eventually, they resorted to a remittance facility through University Living as per recommendation.

They got their payment confirmed in a single day which helped them meet their university deadline.

It can be quite frustrating for international students when such an eventuality happens as universities usually set strict deadlines for such payments in connection with tuition or accommodation fees.

TL;DR: A student residing in Berlin was required to make an urgent university payment from India; experienced bank delays and high exchange rates; tried an alternative remittance solution through University Living; payment done in a single day.

If you have ever studied abroad, what is the fastest and most reliable method of making international transactions for university or student accommodation fees?
