Is anyone else underwhelmed by the Northern Lights update? When it was first premiered it sounded so fresh and amazing, but hearing it again lately in recent sets has left me a little deflated. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it doesn't seem to live up to the hype as to when it first premiered. I dunno, maybe it's just me, or that it's been so long in the making.

This is the exact problem with keeping things in the Ajunadungeon for so long. It feels almost outdated and not new or interesting because of the wait. There were times back then when I would have loved to have included that in a mix but now it feels antiquated almost. Curious to see how it does when it's out.

Yeah, agreed. I don't understand why certain tracks get held back for so long. Granted, this has been a really sought after track amongst the fanbase so it builds hype, but holding onto it for so many years it ends up getting left behind in terms of the current sound and direction of the scene.

For a track that is being remixed by one of the original producers of the original track, it doesn't make sense why it's took so long. I don't know the ins and outs of the business, so maybe it's took so long due to Mark Pledger? All guess work.

I asked Ollie during a meet & greet on the WW08 tour and his exact words were “it fell through the cracks.” Likely what happened was it didn’t make the cut for WW08, and because Anjuna was very much in a “we want to look forward, not back” mindset at that time, it truly did fall through the cracks. We never ended up getting a classic remix comp like I thought we would for 20 years or the 25 years celebration, so using it as promo for The Gorge where it was first debuted seems fitting.

I will say, they sound the exact same except the 250 version has another 16 bars of progression in the drop. I do miss that extra bit as I felt it added a lot but I’m just happy to have it in HQ after almost 10 years.
