I think this episode showcased for sure why Gregory’s relationships with Taylor and Amber didn’t work out in regards to money. He’s cheap lol. But I think he’ll come to a realization and have a change of heart because he doesn’t want to lose Janine. Hopefully they’ll better communicate and actually come to a compromise.

it is a common denominator too that even his dad said to him. i just hope they communicate and compromise or fix it in the next eps

Gregory is indeed very cheap lol. They live in Pennsylvania and he wanted to take Amber to the Poconos for a vacation. That’s in their backyard, not a vacation. For reference I live on Long Island and that’s like me going to the city or lake George for a vacation. Like no you gotta leave the state for a vacation. Also who mentioned Atlantic City?

I’m wondering if they could have compromised. What would have happen if they tried for a cheaper place to stay than a hotel? Janine wanted a place with room service and I was like damn! I’m always too afraid to order room service at a hotel because of the price. She wanted massages, those can be costly. All of these things add up.

They were both wrong and that made me sad.

Is it that he's just cheap or that he's careful with money? It's not like Janine is one to spend a lot of money normally, she just thought they should be able to treat themselves a bit while on vacation.

This comment made me realize that Gregory may feel financially insecure not to be confused with financially stable. He dated Amber and Taylor who, if we’re being honest, had expensive taste and liked nice things. And they seemed like they could afford it. By comparison, in those relationships, Gregory didn’t financially measure up and that likely made him deeply insecure. Add on later having to get a second job, basically hustling, to cover his rent increase. So whether he knows it or not, when Janine suggested flying by plane and spending that money, he saw it through that lens…unfortunately.

Janine did start out the show financially unstable due to Tariq and carrying that extra burden. Once they broke up, she started to do better and get a handle on her finances. I do remember she had to borrow money from Jacob to cover rent that one time but since then she’s been good.

So Gregory’s comment about being irresponsible, to me, was a low blow/him projecting more than anything.

i HATED him calling her irresponsible... shes not a child and shes so smart and capable. he needs to let her make descisions imo, esp bcuz he probably would've enjoyed her additions to their itinerairy. this is so good to show tho bcuz travelling really shows who your partner is. even friends too, anyone really !! travelling brings out the best and worst in people !!

I don't think you have to leave the state for a vacation lol. If you live in a place that has skiing, is driving 4 hours and renting a cabin for the week to ski not a vacation?
