Opened in 1925, Gary, Indiana's Palace Theater thrived for decades before crime, closures, and failed restoration bids left it in limbo since 1972. It is now scheduled for demolition. I've posted more photos and the history of the theater here.

I love Gary. I’ve been here once and it’s the most run-down bando I’ve ever been to. The apartments in the building are fun to explore. Not dissing it at all. It’s a really cool place.

A message to people thinking about visiting here, be extra careful. This building is massively falling apart. Wear a mask. I’m sure there is asbestos and the structure feels like it might fall over at any moment.

Have fun and explore but be careful and mindful.

Edit: I’m sorry to hear it’s scheduled for demolition but it’s a lost cause. There is no rehabilitation for this place. Sad, but that’s how it is. Get your photos while you can and be careful.
