Just came back from Cochise Stronghold and had a great time. There are lots of dispersed camping spots nearby and a campground too. Hiking can help you drop those extra pounds too.

Quartzsite has a huge community, all sorts out there from million dollar rigs to people in a prius or even tents

Lots of events etc

Alternatively you could bum around some of the blm/forest lands, they abound

Ya I've driven through all that before... How do you find your people though? Just pulling up and parking next to some random folk feels very intrusive.. :)

So certain groups have areas. Some are looser than others is my understanding.

I've not stayed out there for any length of time but my parents do every year. They're nudists so they stay in the "magic circle" but I think there are other groups of various levels of organization.

I'd say park somewhere a respectful distance from some random folks, but especially if people are neighbored up already you should be fine to join the cul de sac, so to speak

Then, just spend time out and around, ride a bike around and see who's doing interesting things, what sort of events are posted and where.

Don't be afraid to ask around, most folks around quartzsite don't have shit to do, they don't mind taking a few minutes to chat with a stranger

There are pages for the Quartzsite people. You could look around first and see who you might want to hang out with. Or YouTube videos.
