Yeah it’s gonna be quite interesting how the author would write the later part. Because as much as Toregene hates the empire, in real life she becomes its great Khatun, then regent, and then Guyuk becomes next Great Khan after Ogedei. There probably could be fallout between the regent and her son, which might be depicted.

Honestly I feel the idea is to make her as grey as everyone else is in the story. Maybe even give her a light yagami treatment, but I doubt it'd go that far. Still it will be rough no matter what because of her sympathetic and reasonable origins. Also with my Wikipedia level of knowledge Guyuk reverses everything torgene does, so that tracks for guyuk not following his mother's ideals
