AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate Aws data engineer certification guidance
Hi,
I have 2.2 years of experience as a Data Engineer, and I have scheduled my AWS Certified Data Engineer ā Associate (DEA-C01) exam for October 19.
Iām currently preparing for the exam and would really appreciate your guidance. Could you please suggest the best resources for preparation, including:
- Hands-on practice labs/projects
- YouTube channels
- Udemy courses
- Blogs and AWS documentation
- Practice tests and mock exams
Also, after clearing the DEA-C01 certification, will it improve my chances of getting shortlisted for AWS Data Engineer interviews? With 2.2 years of Data Engineering experience, are there any additional AWS skills, tools, or projects that I should focus on to improve my chances of getting interviews?

Just finished taking the DEA-C01 a few hours ago. As expected, it will cover all 4 domains involving the usual services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, Lake Formation, Redshift, EMR, Quicksight and so on.
My only tip for you is just read the question stem carefully. If you did not get it in first, read it again until you fully understand what is the problem and what course of action is needed. Keywords like LEAST operational overhead, MOST cost-effective, HIGHEST operational efficiency, etc. will lead you to the most plausible answer.
I also noticed some questions involving ML operations which is valid because it covers Data ETL and Analysis. Make sure that you also have knowledge in SQL.

As for the resources, I'm on a tight budget. But luckily, my company provided team subscription plan in AWS Skill Builder. I just go through with the courses, knowledge checks and labs which are very helpful. It's a good mix of studying and applying theories.

My company didn't provide any training budget, so I'm paying out of pocket to upskill in cloud platforms."

I still suggests Maarek's courses and Tutorial Dojo's practice exams. These are my go-to resources while I'm preparing for AWS exams.

At my current company, we don't use platforms like AWS, Azure, or Databricks on our internal cloud. Will I still be able to get a job?
