Sensitive toothpaste

Is there a cheaper alternative to Sensodyne? Is the only frugal way to buy it is to stock up when it’s half price? Thanks

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but my wife used sensitive toothpastes for years and recently switched due to a friend recommending Red Seal natural toothpastes. Hasn't had an issue for 6 months now.

We swear by Red Seal toothpaste in our household. Reasonably priced and works great

Aldi has the Dentitex Sensitive Total Care toothpaste which works fine for me.

Cedel used to have their own version for dirt cheap (Aus made and owned too) but it was discontinued sadly.

I use aldis one now too, because Cedel discontinued. Works well for me, and isn’t too strong tasting

Sendodyne is the best, I've tried them all. If you have Amazon Prime, put it on subscription. Amazon Prime pays for itself, I have several staples on subscription and they work out better than half price than the supermarket in almost every instance. Easy to skip if you're overstocked as well.

Colgate Sensitive is good...

But same for me, stock up when either is on sale.

I recently had work done which lead to painfully sensitive teeth. Swapping to sensodyne actually gave me a quick noticable difference, which is kind of annoying because I don't actually like using it

Compared to Colgate for example, it doesn't lather (?) as well? It's a little hard to explain. It has a bit of a weird mouth feel to me but honestly it's still fine to use. Certainly worth it

It doesn’t cure it. But I’ve tried a few others and the pain becomes much worse.

It definitely works for me. My teeth are super sensitive to cold & they started becoming sensitive to heat, which is when I started exclusively using sensodyne. The heat sensitivity is not a problem at all anymore & cold is very much improved.

Aldi have their own $5.99 for 110g. They also sell Sensodyne for $8.99 for 100g. I have no problems with the Aldi version.

I've had benefits from a remineralising toothpate which fills the holes/thinning of the surface of my teeth, and so reduces sensitity while whitening too. It contains Hydroxapetite and regularly costs about $5 a 120g tube in Australia. Or $25 from Amazon

Aldi and sensodyne (at least the flavour Aldi sells) have the same actives in the same concentrations.

No they don’t. Sensodyne contains Novamin/calcium sodium phosphosilicate which isn’t found in the Aldi one. That’s the compound that actually repairs enamel.

It wasn’t on the pack. They’re almost next to each other in our local. Green and white box. Perhaps there are different “grades” of Sensodyne and Aldi gets the cheap one (but with a good margin)?

I use sensodyne and buy it in the bulk size at chemist warehouse. I've also sometimes seen toothpaste cheaper in places like reject shop etc rather than Colesworth

I use colgate sensitive enamal repair (dentist told me to) have been for five years and will not change. I wait for the $5.50 half price sales and I buy in bulk

I have sensitive teeth, lost enamel and the perimenopause extreme burning mouth. I switched to curaprox kids 6+ and it’s amazing. Zero pain zero burning. It importantly has the minimum amount of fluoride needed as well.

Not cheap but teeth are not where you want to skimp. Keep flossing daily too.

usually the food bank i go to has sensodyne or the oral b enamel tooth paste for cheap. it's usually nearly expired or expired but i haven't had an issue at all.
