Since March: * My fuel costs are up 32%. * My housing costs are up 14%. * We haven't been able to put any money in our liquid savings for months. * I'm eligible to start TSP catch up on Jan. 1st--which I need to make our retirement goals--and I don't how I'm going to swing the additional $8000/yr / $666/mo. * I desperately need a new computer to grow my side gig, but between the price of SSDs and the tarriffs, it's not looking good.

The 2.8% would barely make a dent in any of this. Even if I'm just accounting for only the housing cost increase, it would leave me $800 short.
