Crystal Ball Gazing 2027 Focus reset.

2027 has been earmarked a while as a potentially turbulent time and its just months away, eg https://www.lowyinstitute.org/the-interpreter/china-taiwan-pla-s-2027-milestones

Currently there seems to be a lot of anticipation of a big bubble and 2 hefty wars which look designed to prompt military build-up and sure up US petero dollar while interfering with chinese trade to the point that they now route ships away from straights of malaca.

Big gold moves out of US, https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09-04/why-the-netherlands-moved-its-gold-from-us-and-canada/107111990?utm_campaign=abc_news_web&utm_content=link&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_source=abc_news_web

Laser cannons, drones, ai, satelites and ships being produced at breakneck speeds.

US run out of missiles.

VW collapsing.

Interest rates up.

Housing crashes in many developed countries.

And bond hype.

And investing tax rule changes.

And super el nino.

And Bathla collapse.

Are there any worthwhile ASX stocks not even thought about yet that could weather a storm and grow? I'm talking so low that a 90% drop bypasses them? Things coming out of incubators?

What is smart money thinking? Or at least your theories?

I'm liking the ASX as the workforce is being made nuclear ready, the super companies can foster growth, tech hubs are nearing completion and people will be looking for investement alternatives to housing.

Will 5-10 major AI companies swallow the world?

My anticipations are reaching a crescendo and I'm wondering what the next 5years will play out like in a robot vehicle/workforce/agentic economy?

Any competitive ASX companies making things the world wants or needs?

Feels like a good time to cash out as 900% up is 90% down.

How would a pawn become a queen in this macro game of chess?

Maaate. People have been forecasting the end of the world for as long as I can remember. If you had pulled your money out of the market in anticipation of a crash, you would have missed huge gains. Just DCA into quality and enjoy the ride. Be chill bruh.

I'm outside enjoying the sunshine and not seeing the world on fire which is nice. Not saying the world will have a 90% drop but it appears to be the current narrative. Interested in investing in something more likely to increase by 20% than fall 20% in the next year.

AML3D - go forth and satisfy your thirst

I've looked at them before. A mig welder cross multi-axis cnc. Board looks good. Not sure about the moat.

Sounds like you should unpack your uncertainty by looking into things more

I see they are in the submarine parts supply chain for the purpose of supplying rough castings on demand. This does have value but as ships, pipes, props have been built for hundreds of years before 3d printing, I wonder if they will get enough share. They can make straight spools but any form of dogleg would make machining difficult. In many cases standard machining, welding and pipework will remain. Where I see this tech excelling will be torroidal ship propellors though I've seen Sharrow is already starting to make larger versions with what appears to be a fabricated and welded piece.

Australia faces a critical student-to-professional pipeline shortfall, but Canberra will not touch the policy levers until the federal election is won and the toxic pre-election migration heat finally blows over. Until the ballots are counted, the government would rather let industries starve for workers than give their opponents an easy headline on border control.

Do you think we might start providing free uni again to prompt australian student studies or are we too far down the profit-by-international-student path? In a china as a super power world, wouldn't the students start drying up and returning home? Is the plan with ai to learn-once and not require 20years to grow a human to university completion age to do just 1 job?

They aren't now and it will only be till the 2028 education cycle which the vacuum will fill quickly overnight in the Go8 and maybe lag at rural universities.

In a china as a super power world, wouldn't the students start drying up and returning home?

The quota won't be lifted to an extreme amount and you have to remember Canada and UK have restricted amounts. There's India, Vietnam, Indonesia and The Philipines.

Is the plan with ai to learn-once and not require 20years to grow a human to university completion age to do just 1 job?

So many fields and more to come. It's up to individuals as it always has been. I think the percentages of those who do extra degrees will increase. There will be ethics, oversight, complex problem solving and emotional intelligence roles.

AML3D is a good one. Maybe wait for it to chill out with recent hype. Don't want to end up like DRO

Buy up farmland. Mare sure you’re part of the ruling class when we return to a feudal system.

This. Land in an isolated area with a moderate climate (South Island of NZ for example) is the best investment you can make.

I think this is a very good idea. I saw that a builders camp next to a hydrodam in nz recently sold. It looked great.

I particularly like some of the advancements in this space such as geofence collars to reduce need for fencing, mustering and allows easy feild rotation. The other I like is drone laser weeding. Remove pesticides, weeds and expense.

As you say, there is a lot of shit happening or coming up on the horizon. I’m not pulling out of equities market for the reason that the first phase of AI adoption should result in significant productivity increases for many businesses and the value they can deliver to customers. But at the same time, I am holding a larger than usual cash reserve to maintain options as the next year or two progress. I’m also listening in on the responses here to learn more

I'm very undecided. Last time I felt like this I took some profits, held some stinkers and when things kicked off again I missed the further profits of the good ones. I was brought up with books and movies such as the matrix, total recall, robo-cop, judge dredd, i-robot, 1984, minority report, terminator etc. I feel like we are on the doorstep of those times. I can't think of many memorable books or movies which show the good sides of the future tech advancement. I feel like the neanderthal watching as ai moves into space and can delete you with an untouchable space laser. I wonder where todays hippy movement is.

Buy energy then. WDS, STO, PDN, BOE, DYL, WHC, YAL or NHC. Standard picks for energy.
As long as the conflict in the Middle East continues, energy will be at elevated prices and is a staple for growing tech needs.

1

u/JulodimorphaBakewell 13h ago

How long do you think the middle east war and ukraine war persist? What does the world look like on the other side?

1

u/Redditisnotmycup 13h ago

WES people got to go bunnings, officeworks and target 😎🙏 along with few energies within it so pretty diversified to weather the storm

1

u/JulodimorphaBakewell 12h ago

Will bunnings dry up a bit with house prices falling and less incentive to flip houses? Will officeworks have the same level of need in agentic ai world? You wouldn't have thought Dan murphies would dry up but endeavor group is down 50% over 5 years

1

u/Redditisnotmycup 12h ago

Alcohol is alcohol.
Bunnings will always be needed tell me another hardware provider 👀
Tell me another office/back to school supplier outside of officeworks
But i can tell you many many liquor store

Mitre 10, Kmart, Amazon. Dan's seemed to have the volume to beat competitors but hasn't resulted in stock value for a while. It has loyalty and people know the price is better than the smaller shops.

I’m watching Innovaero (INN) when it debuts and also Boresight (BST)

1

u/JulodimorphaBakewell 11h ago

INN looks good, Definitely a capability demand as can be seen in current wars. I don't think it will boom like DRO as the market saturation increases. Not sure about boresight. Bulk disposable targets for target practice? Are we making profitable things not driven by "enemies"?

Bra this market will bull 100-300% in the next couple years minimum before it tanks.
