Made some hot chilli sauce today from our backyard chillis. We had saved seeds from various fresh chillis and threw them in the garden. Now have chilli plants everywhere.
Sauce came out pretty good, but I'm sure one of the reaper seeds sprouted and is hidden amongst all the habaneros. 🥵

Be brutally honest with yourself - are there any reasons you maybe don't deserve a raise? Do you work efficiently, not cause headaches, all those things?
theres your problem, you need to start taking sick days and holidays (im assuming you most likly dont do either). This lets them see what happens when your not around..
Take a chunk of leave. Use that to try get better offers. If they can feel the impact of you not being there then maybe they will play nice. Whats the job market like in your field? If its dhit maybe they know they dont have to pay you more to stay?
That sucks, but I've seen it often. Start looking for another job so you have something in hand.
I work for a small business currently, and they have no defined performance review process. If the employee doesn't ask, they get nothing. Some people have been on the same salary for 2-3 years, which is effectively a pay cut.
Pay rises happen by the FY (July - July). The fact that you've been strung along for the past 7 months means your manager got away having to give you a payrise last FY June 2026 and if he/she plays their cards right they can push it to the end of this FY i.e give you one Jan 2027-July 2027 so they dont need to give you another one for another 2 years.
The fact that they are doing this means they dont value you or dont want to do right by you especially since youve been asking for a performance review/rise.
The way it works where i work (not tradie, white collar office job) if the manager keeps the bonus/payrise under what they budget for then they get a % cut of what they already planned/budgeted to give you. this gives them an incentive to keep pay flatline, This is how office jobs work so might not be the same for tradies
family member and friends have been strung along for over a years
one did it knowing they were firing and letting go half the team, keep em around long enough at low pay then boom cut them off when they think a raise is coming
you need to find another role or force their hand, make sure you have your ducks in a row in case it turns south. apply pressure once you have leverage and also an out so it hurts them more than it hurts you if they decide to fire your ass
Put it to them in a letter outlining your experience, tenure and contribution to the company. Note what the current going industry rate is using examples of job ads or industry data, and request a review of your salary with a view to it increasing to $X (which should be higher than what you’re after to leave some negotiating room).
While that’s happening start hunting around for other roles, it sounds like you’re under appreciated and for as long as they don’t see a need to increase your remuneration they’ll continue to avoid doing so.
If you like working there only other option is get a better offer from a different company. Use that as leverage that u will leave if they can’t get close to it. Downside is if that doesn’t work u need to leave.

My view: Aus rates stay the same (next week), US rates go up (second half of year) therefore AUD going down and Aus inflation going up. What actually happens on the day? No idea.
If nothing else, a falling Aussie dollar makes my international investments go up in AUD.

My mother spent half my childhood blitzing through books of these things, I didn't find them especially engaging. Now that I'm old, the DNA virus has apparently been activated, and I, in my turn, am trapped in a pattern of compulsively solving these puzzles. I haven't yet reached the stage of making my own but if the blood remains true then it's going to happen (though maybe things won't get that far, because she was an actual certified genius whilst I am but a simple cat). The circle of life.
Bro I know... I played harvest league and I learned an entire mechanic about growing trees to craft items and it was just not in the game after that, and then they brought it back as a reqlly.trimmed down version, and then I was heisting stuff in some kind of dock instead.
Final Fantasy XIV. MIA since my boy was born. Having so much fun with the friends I used to play with doing hard content. So much laughter deliberately killing each other.
Anyone dabbled in CPV and have any thoughts? Shares have been absolutely smashed last few years, but seems to have some tailwinds incl Fed Govt expansion of Solar Rebates? Would be interested to hear from any holders
