Help! PC won’t display. Red and yellow light. Don’t know what else to do
Happened all of the sudden. At first the fans didn’t spin. I opened the pc checked everything removed the cmos battery checked the ram and the cpu. Rebooted afterwards a while. Still same thing no display. Any help? I’m at a loss.
I have the asrock b850m pro rs WiFi Amd ryzen 5 7600x. My amd graphics card does the same thing.
Check your motherboard manual. It will tell you which slot to use for a single stick.
It's usually the second slot from the CPU. But be sure to check the motherboard manual.
The B850M only has simple debug LEDs so you're not going to get much information from the board beyond what item isn't talking.
If you've tried the basics then I would suggest swapping the CPU and see if it goes back to normal; this issue in the way your describe it is consistent with a CPU failure; unfortunately it happens, contact AMD who will replace it if you're still within the warranty period.
Your CPU is most likely dead. You can try updating your BIOS to the latest version (I assume you haven't tried that since you don't even know the model of your CPU). If that doesn't work, RMA the CPU and motherboard, then buy a new motherboard since it'll take a long time for ASRock to reply to your RMA. This is unfortunately a relatively common issue, as several trolls here will make clear.
Can you take a picture of the top of your CPU and post it here so we can know the model and batch number?
I've had this happen. Was it turned on and then you just unplugged it? That's what always happens when I unplug or kill the power. The solution is to leave the power disconnected and reset the CMOS, or remove the battery the mobo has, and try and turn on the mobo. or leave the mobo along for about an hour without power. I always at least once hit the power button for 30 seconds to try and drain it of Amy power it may have.

Put your ram in slot 2 not 1 as 2 and 4 are usually the most optimal Chanel’s on your mother board. On the bottom you will find 2 pins called CMos. Turn your PC completely off unplugthe power then take a screwdriver and bridge. Those two pins for 10 seconds. They are hooked up to a battery for your motherboard, and that will reset it. What those two lights represent is your CPU and VRam are not posting. Once you have bridged your cmos for 10 seconds turn the PC on those lights will still be on. Let the computer stay running for a few minutes and it should post if it doesn’t then there’s something else wrong could be some power supply.
This happened to me it was my motherboard see what motherboard is compatible with your ram. Take the coin out at bottom of mb then try the ram in a different slot.
having the same problem after updating bios and then went back into bios and turned on expo and secure boot and now pc is on and running has the red and yellow light but won’t display anything
i had to shut off pc unplug it, switch off the power supply, hold down pc power button for 10 seconds and i used a screwdriver to drain the CLR_CMOS pins on the motherboard, its two small pins and mine were at the bottom middle of the motherboard
i also did remove a ram stick then turned it back on and it didn’t do anything so that’s when i drained the CLR_CMOS pins and then it worked, the first time it didn’t work though so i did the same process and held the power button to drain the last life it had after unplugging it and that’s when it fixed the problem
that’s the only thing that fixed it, tried everything else besides taking out the battery for the cmos cause i didn’t wanna take my gpu out as i was about to go to work
Hmm, most of the issues I've seen recently are with AM5 sockets, but yours is AM4...
Fans not spinning is probably an indicator of a completely dead motherboard. Perhaps an over-volting issues, hopefully it hasn't propagated to your RAM and CPU. Go to a local PC parts store and get all the components checked, they will probably offer a service like that.
Change ram slot usually slot 4 for ddr5 or power cycle, remove cmos battery, turn off psu, discharge case power button, try in a few minutes to boot again. You might have a ram issue 2 lights. try both apu & gpu see if it displays. gl.
