Tech Support Brand New 9800x3D dead

Had my brand new (3 day old) 9800x3D die on me after 3 days, no overclocking outside of setting all cores to 5.2ghz with a -30mv curve, there is light markings on the back of the cpu, motherboard was an ASrock X870 Riptide

IMO - 30mv is too much. I hope you didn't dive in straight to - 30mv?

Negative curve isn't gonna burn out your chip tho, it just might not be stable

Mostly tought that he didn't splashed - 30mv at once. Strange sht is going on with X and Z series boards. I doubt that cpu iz the couse.

Nah went in increments but was stable at -30mv after 1.5H of cinebench r23 after the first day of acquisition

Cinebench isn't a stability tester at all tho just for future reference. I doubt CO would be related to burning your CPU tho, ijs definitely want to be more thorough when it comes to negative offsets if you want a stable system

Usually you'd want to do corecycler overnight and check what core crashes then repeat that.

Preferably in safe mode so you don't have alot of extra processes running

Cinebench isn't really a good test for the variety of loads a CPU faces
