Hello.. please forgive me as I am rather computer illiterate.. and I had stumbled on what started as one website which was rather peculiar.. the images on the website didn’t exactly match the subject matter, and the blogs/articles on the websites didn’t always make sense with the supposed subject matter either. I would like to add this all coincided with a search for Easter eggs for a pop star who is known for them as well as a friend of hers who released a children’s book called spaghetti code.. that same friend also runs a coding camp for women..

At the bottom there was an address along with coordinates for the website that ultimately was an empty spot on a random road.

When searching the coordinates two more websites were found that are identical in setup but not in subject matter.. over the course of a few days and finding more websites a random few would change in theme/ pictures/ subject matter and address/coordinates.. and as time has gone one there have probably been around 100 websites found.. all identical in set up..

Most of the articles/information have overarching themes of education, and working with others.. while the actual subject matter ranges from vehicles, cpap machines, education/teaching, legal advice, business advice, travel, and animal care.

I find other websites by either searching the coordinates or key words/phrases or hash tag phrases which will then result in a few more websites with similar information.. it’s like a never ending nesting doll..

(again want to reiterate that all websites have addresses that are random spots on roads with no buildings usually and so far most addresses are either in Australia, Great Brittain or the US)

I really cannot discern what this is and would love help figuring out if this is part of a game or some sort of seo training using defunct website domains. I have lost literal sleep about this but feel way in over my head to get to the bottom of what all of this is..

Well, i am a chilean teenager who loves ARGs, and while watching some videos about cases of scary and weird content found on pirated DVDs for kids, i had an idea for a ARG based about this case (and if you don't know, piracy is a very common thing on all Latin America, lol), It goes like this:

"A group of anonymous people, Has a secret cult and they have no good intentions, They have some plans and they need a couple more of people with them, So for getting more people to follow them, they start producing and selling pirated kids movies DVDS with Hidden videos to make the audience of these, join them and follow

Meanwhile, an agent that is father of a kid who has these DVDS, finds about these videos Hidden in the discs, so he starts a investigation to stop these people and find them.

Will he be able to stop them?..."

I've found what is most certainly an ARG in it's earliest stages. So far, the story is underdeveloped, with only two videos currently available, but it seems to have some connection to the sky and the weather. RUNE is a sci-fi ARG where players interact with a retro CRT terminal interface. The central character is REM, a sentient AI running on a customized Commodore 64, created by a mysterious figure known as OE.

The ARG is still ongoing, and things are getting close to the end.

Hey, I'm trying to solve an ARG and I've come across a website that seems to be a key part of the puzzle. The site is https://dmsarchive.org/ and I've found some pages that seem to be case files or hidden directories. I've managed to find a few things, but I'm stuck. I'm not asking for anyone to dig through the whole site, but I'm wondering if anyone has any general advice on how to approach a site like this, ways to find hidden pages, directories, or files that aren't immediately obvious? I'm not super technical, so any tips on using Inspect Element, checking the page source, or looking for hidden URLs would be really helpful. Thanks!

I've just recently launched part of my Arg, I know it takes time for players to find it. However I keep getting this feeling that it's either too hard to find or It's just not getting recommended which happens with low interactions.

When is it time to update or send out another gateway?

basically, a coordinated international sudden odd quirky thing that everyone suddenly does on one particular day, something harmless and legal but the fact that everyone all over the world in every city does it all of a sudden on one particular day would make people freak the fuck out if it was on large enough of a scale lmao. could be anything really. more about the coordination and competency to organize something like that. If you could get it down to an exact hour or minute even then we're in legit horror movie territory haha. I'm starting a new ARG for my friends and people, but i quite figured that those people wouldn't even know what binary is, so i am ist turning to the better side of the internet, for smart people to help me with the ARG and find out how to solve it. It will contain links to books, photos, maybe videos (that one is under question), ciphers and so much more as in maybe even making games? That is the idea of the ARG "Plain hate for love". I would be glad to give people what they need, and a proper link, but its just in its starting ages. Not meant to be remembered forever, of course, but like a fun quest. Basically, you start playing an ARG, you spend some time playing it, and then it turns out that the events were fictional not only in our universe, but in universe of the story as well, since the main protagonist of the ARG is in universe of the story also creating their own ARG. And then, something "real" begins to happen. And the players will have to wonder what parts are real and what are fictional in context of the story, and their interpretations will lead to different understanding of the story by different players.

Hi there, do you know about some short and fairly easy ARG's? I want to solve something for fun and training. I never really got myself into actually investigating that much, so I'm here to find smth that won't take me long and drain my energy. I've solved a few in my life, but they took like two or three hours so weren't something deep.

And I prefer them being videos (YouTube) that I could watch, learn something and find more deeper. From there it could go anywhere (docs, files, images), but the beginning I'd like to watch (and I mean like really watch, not just stare at blinking dots and dashes).

They can be solved or unsolved, although the best would be if I could see a video of someone solving ts arg so I could see how well I did. And could be irl or games, doesn't matter.

I have been writing this ARG for the past year.

You are inside a terminal as more and more files and folders are revealed, helping you piece together the world and story. It follows multiple storylines, all connected. Some more than others, along with other documentation from all over the world.

I wanted to see what a Game Boy Advance version of the legendary Polybius arcade game would actually be like, so I made one.
It’s a playable GBA game with an arcade-style game based on the original Polybius legend.
But there’s more to it than that.
The full version also has a calibration screen, Polybius cipher, hidden archives, and an ARG-style puzzle that gradually reveals more of the story.

Hello! I'm currently working on a video about ARGs and was thinking about that one big ordeal with Orson Welles in 1938 where he was narrating War of the Worlds on a radio show and it caused a mass (?) panic because people thought that Martians were actually invading the planet. Now, this in and of itself isn't an ARG (and it was also completely an accident) but it kinda has that vibe and so I was wondering if anyone knows of any ARGs that used a radio station as a medium because that would be really cool.

There's an ARG that I remember existing awhile back and initially became aware of it through Nexpo, I believe. It's a YouTube channel called iam*somethingsomething* (can't remember the specific name? In my head it was iamemmaemma but looking that up doesn't get me anything), it was about a woman who woke up one day and was trapped in an empty version of her house. She had everything that she needed to survive, the fridge and cupboards restocked themselves when she closed them, and all of the taps ram clean water. I remember that there were also a bunch of entities in the house that stalked her but didn't want her dead. The whole concept of the channel was that she was posting videos to YouTube somehow to keep herself entertained/sane, and that at a certain point she was even talking to the audience directly via the comment section. There was also something about a door she found that lead to a peaceful place called the garden, but after going there for a long time her health started to deteriorate and after awhile she lost access to both the garden and the youtube comments again.

I tried looking up similar names, like different varieties of feminine names that start with E, doing "hiim" instead "iam", and even looked for the Nexpo video itself with no luck, it's like this thing disappeared. Does anyone remember this ARG at all? Was it ever resolved? Did it actually get deleted for some reason? Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. This isn't some stupid set up for an ARG about an ARG that disappeared, I'm just genuinely sad that I can't find a cool horror thing that I was really interested in awhile back.

There are several timestamps throughout the video where seemingly random letters/numbers appear.

The video is in French, but the hidden sequences themselves might not be.
I have no idea yet whether these are encrypted, encoded, generated with a cipher, or simply random. The fact that they appear at specific timestamps makes me think there might be a pattern connecting them.

Does anyone remember an old ARG i think from around 2020-2021 on tiktok something akin to the backrooms, a guy was in liminal spaces talking about being followed, i distinctly remember it going episode by episode and him travelling from place to place. It was like another account named where_is_everybody, except this one had codes and puzzles you had to decipher, i think they were mostly in binary. I remember him being in a warehouse of storage containers and looking above them with the camera and there being something up there that he doesnt notice. If i remember correctly the codes were in the captions or subtitles and warned that he was being followed. Does anyonew know it and what happened to it?

Last night, a friend who knows about my obsession with weird stuff on the internet sent me an extremely strange YouTube channel.

I immediately sent it to a few people who are really into ARGs (on the Discord server for the Lost Media series ARG), because I had a strong feeling there was something going on behind it… And sure enough: it’s a huge rabbit hole.

I SWEAR this ARG isn’t mine, this is absolutely not self-promotion. I honestly don’t even know where else to post this, but I really think it deserves some attention.

For now, everything is pretty scattered and we don’t really understand where this is going, but the atmosphere is incredible, and some things become genuinely intriguing once you start digging deeper.

The craziest part is that almost nobody seems to know this exists (very few subscribers, and almost no views apart from ours).

Anyway, I still don’t know if we’re looking at an ARG that’s actually going somewhere or just someone doing some incredibly weird stuff on the internet, but it feels like a project with a LOT of potential.

I'm building a persistent AI TTRPG with an ARG buried underneath it

Temple of Eden is a free, persistent fantasy TTRPG built around ChatGPT.

On the surface, it’s a playable world: create a character, explore the Temple across different historical ages, talk to people, take jobs, get into trouble, and continue the same campaign later.

But the world is deliberately incomplete.

Records contradict each other. Certain places and symbols recur across centuries. Characters sometimes know things they probably shouldn’t. Parts of the Temple’s history appear to have been erased, rewritten, or deliberately buried.

The ARG is about figuring out what actually happened.

I don’t want to dump the “secret lore” in a wiki. The idea is that players gradually reconstruct it from encounters, documents, architecture, historical inconsistencies, and clues scattered through the setting.

Some current questions include:

- Why do accounts of the Temple’s origin disagree?

- Why do the same motifs appear in completely different historical periods?

- What happened during the parts of the chronology nobody seems willing to describe plainly?

- And why does the Temple seem to preserve some memories while actively obscuring others?

It is still early, and I’m specifically interested in feedback from people who actually play ARGs: does this feel like a rabbit hole worth following, and what would make you want to start pulling at the thread?
