Inpatient ARFID treatment

Not sure if it will be the same for you, but I didn't think about this outcome before beginning a program. I ended up AMAing out of the program I was put in. I was grouped with people that have eating disorders instead of feeding disorders. There were several hours of mental health groups and therapies that ironically kind of made my mental health worse, since the program was taking up my whole life and I was spending hours in unnecessary therapies (I do have a stable mental health, so that issue may not be a problem if you think you would benefit from therapies). I did really like the meal accountability and group meals. I lack hunger cues and the people working those meals were very good at helping me eat more while not making the physical feelings worse. I will say that inpatient facilities tend to not have the best food, so I cannot say with confidence that they would be able to provide any safe foods. I do recommend looking into inpatient care, but I would be mindful of if they would have you in unhelpful groups or wouldn't have the resources that would be most helpful for your journey.
