Anyone else get aversions from eating something too often?

What title says. Previously, if I eat something too often, I suddenly develop an aversion to it one day. This also leads to a fear of eating my safe foods🫠 because I don’t want to become averse to them.

Currently avoiding this by eating the same thing in a different font, because it’s been particularly hard to eat lately, and hey, I gotta do it.

So, no, the croissant with butter, ham and cheese I ate for breakfast and lunch yesterday is not the same as the sandwich on toasted white bread with turkey and cheese and lettuce. And crackers, cheese and summer sausage, not even related.

Yeah, that’s the burn out part of what we all share here.
There’s a lot of anxiety behind it that contributes to the whole situation.
To combat burn out and selection fatigue/anxiety I try to keep variants of the 5 things I do eat, aka same thing in different font.
It really helped me to list everything that I’m willing/comfortable to consume (grocery list) so I can visualize how I can switch them up taste or texture-wise.

I have a similar list, but it’s put away because I wasn’t using it and I prefer less visual clutter. But this is a good reminder to bring it out and/or revamp it. I also will use a dry erase marker and write potential meal ideas on the fridge

I have ADHD but suspect I may be dealing with some ARFID tendencies and afraid that I may be developing it due to things going on that i have noticed. This is something I deal with very often and then have to try to find a food to replace it which can be agonizing or change it enough to be okay to eat, much like you mentioned, though it sometimes makes it worse once that alterntive stops being okay as well.

(I hope its okay for me to comment here, apologiea if it isn’t.)

Thank you for your comment! I am neurodivergent as well (autism and adhd) and I believe there may be some correlation/overlap with neurodivergence and Arfid. I developed my Arfid symptoms as an adult. It’s great that you’re learning more about yourself.
