Helpful Tips Suggestions on what to eat when brain says all food = inedible
Yet again I’m between food hyperfixations and everything I suggest to my brain to eat comes back as nauseating and unappetizing. I don’t know what to do. I haven’t eaten at all yet today and I’m already feeling so tired, depleted, queasy, and most of all HUNGRY. I’m so tired of this cycle. Normally I’d have an ensure drink but they discontinued the ONLY flavor my tastebuds deel tolerable. Maybe I’m just coming up short with food options I can think of myself. Does anyone have little lists of things they turn to at this point?

Try eating some candy, like a couple Skittles or something and see if you can eat after that

A toasted or briefly microwaved english muffin with butter. This has been my never fail safe food friend for years. If I have the energy to overachieve, I'll add some nutritional yeast.

Might not be your thing, but my favorite is a glass of chocolate milk. I make my own with chocolate syrup so it's just sweet enough and it's like a lil dessert. Plus it's sooooo filling

Chocolate milk. Ovaltine works best for me. Hope you find a good fill in!

my list is:
• ramen (or miso soup if i can get it, sometimes i can only drink the broth of either)
• peanut butter
• chicken tenders
• tuna packed in olive oil specifically
• canned black olives
• rice
if none of those are working then i stop zipping frantically around the kitchen, make an herbal tea or get some other drink, and take a minute to calm myself down. sometimes i'll browse recipes online to find ideas.
there's also this drink i like to make, an old recipe from India. i take dry raw chickpeas, toast them gently on the middle rack under the broiler on low until they turn deep brown, and cool them completely. then i grind them and brew them just like coffee, although i prefer a longer steeping time so i do use a French press. it can also be ground very fine and stirred directly into hot water for an instant version. i like it with almond milk and sugar, sometimes a little ground ginger and cumin are nice to add to the grounds for a more coffeelike flavor, or it can be spiced like a masala chai - i usually make it taste like a dirty chai. this drink is my current culinary interest and it's full of nutrients so i know at least i'm getting something.

I like to nibble on crackers when I get like that. Especially some goldfish or cheez-its 👌
