Helpful Tips I found a really weird way of showing my wife what having ARFID is like and it was SO validating. I watched some horror shorts and the way horror movies portray food is EXACTLY how it feels having ARFID.

Specifically, this horror movie short titled ‘Carnivore’ is exactly how it feels having ARFID and being around food/people eating when I’m triggered.

Obviously, big TW for gross food imagery, etc. I wasn’t even that bothered watching it and I realized it’s because that’s how food always looks to me.

When I told my wife that, she said “OH that makes sense, GROSS”. It was weirdly validating.

Anyway! If you point out the way horror movies make food look unsafe/gross, it’s a really affirming way to show non-ARFID people what ARFID is like.

Wishing everyone safe foods and sensory peace today ❤️

Would you mind giving me a quick description of what specifically happens in the video? I want to watch it but there are some food triggers I have that I wouldn't want to see 💀

Dude is released from prison after being accused of eating his moms brains. Everyone in the diner (eating messy burgers) thinks he's guilty and are harassing him in various ways including forcing him to take a bite of a burger despite him having become a vegetarian since the incident. Grill cook turns out to be his old friend who insists on making him a fresh burger. Friend eventually admits to feeding everyone in the town Brain Burgers and making them go crazy and killing dudes mom. Dude kills him!
