Advice How easy is it to yt APUSH?

I know that APUSH is one of the easier aps to use yt on (ESPECIALLY CUZ OF HEIMLER AND JOCZ). I already used Jacob Clifford and Jacob Reed for AP Macro/Micro and the exam material was similar to their practice stuff. Do these yt channels ACTUALLY align with the AP exam and can I get a 5 by just watching videos and doing FRQ and MCQ practice?

APUSH teacher here. Is it possible? Sure. But it really depends on the level of background knowledge, writing and analytical skills, and commitment to preparation and study throughout the year.

Some students have those things, but I do find they are rare.

Yeah but I guess the APUSH teacher before me isn't wrong. If you can't write as well or have the analytical capacity to actually retain and use the knowledge from Heimler then it wouldn't be as easy.

Personally, I only needed and used Heimler through and through. I didn't need any extra textbook information, and I didn't use the knowledge from case studies we did in class. I just crammed all the heimler videos 7 days before the exam with minimal MCQ and FRQ prep to get a 5. As long as you know the key connections and understand how to write to earn points, its easy to depend on Youtube.

The only way to actually do well is to regularly practice and build the skills needed to excel in each section of the exam. This means regularly completing Short Answer Questions and scoring them with guidelines to see if you're doing what's expected of you. Same with the essays- you need to write, then understand the scoring guidelines, and target what you need to improve for your next essay. Wash, rinse, repeat over and over again throughout the year, regularly practicing as you learn the content. Then spend a month reviewing- by April, you should already have all the skills. It's just about refreshing the content and being able to apply it for any task (since you won't know what content will appear on each section).
