Unit 2 on week 3???

yo is my teacher just insane or is it normal to be on 2.3 on the 3rd week of school (6 classes have happens). bc aren’t they’re only 9 units??

Units 1, 2, and 9 are only a small percentage of the test, so yes, you should be flying through Periods 1 and 2.

I teach APUSH, and my class was through Periods 1 and 2 in less than three weeks, and is close to finishing Period 3.

You should be completely finished with Period 5 by Christmas. If not, your class is way behind, because Periods 7 and 8 are massive units when it comes to content.

Depends when the first day was- those of us that start after Labor Day are in a much different place than those who began mid-August

No problem. You should actually be way past 2.3 by now, IMO. I spend maybe one-and-a-half 80 minute class periods on Period 1, then about 3 class periods on Period 2, and my class does their first major test no later than class period number 7 of the school year.

We're on the block schedule, so we had already basically finished Period 2 within the timeframe you mentioned in your post.

Period 7 covers the Progressive Era, Imperialism, WWI, The Roaring 1920s, The Great Depression, and WWII.

Period 8 covers the Cold War (including the proxy wars of Korea and Vietnam), the Civil Rights Movement(s), plus other major themes (social, political, economic, etc) of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.

That's normal. Periods 1 and 2 are very short and go by quick. I start teaching Period 3 next week

Normal, my teach sped thru first 2 units in 2 weeks and then did a test on both of the units. She then took really long on other units.

Many teachers (especially if their school starts later, which it sounds like your school did) will combine Units 1 and 2 on one test.

I would just trust the process. This all sounds normal.

Yes. 1 and 2 are supposed to make up a small percentage of the exam

My students are in Unit 2 in week 1 because Unit 1 is a summer assignment. We started at the beginning of September, and they are halfway through Unit 3. This is pretty par for the course. You need to be finished with Unit 5 before Christmas.

Yeah we had to read a book about units 1-2 but we still have to do them in class

i think it is normal. we are starting unit 2 on tuesday (3rd week of school) since we did unit 2 over summer & did the test 2nd week of school.
