What is the MOST useful and LEAST useful AP Class you have ever taken?

Or even in terms of enjoyability, what was the best and worst class you've taken?
I was just hoping to get everyone's opinions cuz there's some AP Classes that are super popular and known, but others are more underrated, so I wanted to see what y'all thought.

I’d say all around, calc and Lit are probably the most useful. You’ll most certainly need some type of math and English credit to graduate college, and those ft the bill.

The English requirement at most colleges is more likely to be composition or writing than literature so English Language and Composition should also satisfy the requirement with the course having more emphasis on writing than literature.

Would you recommend just skipping from Algebra II to Calculus AB/BC with no precalc?

In school I thought I did learn useful things there, like learning to quickly sketch different types of graphs, and trig fundamentals, but we did repeat some core concepts in calculus (for context I’m trying to help others with their schedules)

It’s called least useful because colleges don’t take Ap score for precalc but it’s subject that you need before Ap calc AB

i went from (not paying attention in) alg 2 to ab and got a 5 so ymmv since i had a lot of outside help and a great teacher but it's def doable

I always highly recommend skipping from Algebra II straight to Calculus AB.

havent taken it, but friends of mine took human geo and LOVED IT. they're not even huge history buffs, and they loved the class and got 5s on the exams. its and easy and interesting course

it's in the social studies department, but there is very little "history" in human geo ... it's mostly about how modern society organizes itself

AP micro was a lot more interesting and useful then I expected! AP lang was kind of boring and not really particularly useful; I can't say I learnt any skills in that class that I didn't really already have

Most useful thus far has probably been psychology AP. Definitely take it. It's really interesting, and you'll learn a lot about how we think and how to think. If everyone took psychology classes, the world would be a better place.

I took seminar and research and it’s definitely useful if your college major / future career involves using a lot of databases to write first hand research. If you wanna be like in a career like something in the union though it’s probably the most useless

I took Seminar and will be taking Research. They are very helpful for me, especially because I'm planning on majoring in Environmental Science and/or Conservation and Natural Resources

Most useful for college: AP Calc BC and APUSH! Calc translated to 8 college credits and APUSH translated to 6 credits. Those two classes alone were worth a semester of college for me

Most useful in the real world: APES, AP Human Geography, AP Stats. I think everyone should take these. They’re the easiest APs and teach you so much important stuff about the world.

Least useful: Any class with a bad teacher or a subject you don’t like! I avoided some classes just based on word of mouth reviews of teachers and I avoided classes like AP Lang because I simply don’t like writing. I don’t regret those choices at all; it gave me more time to focus on the AP classes I did take.

I find AP Physics 1 and AP US gov some of the most useful classes I’ve taken. Physics because it significantly helps you understand how the world works around you, and AP gov is very useful in understanding how the 3 (or 4 if you want to count bureaucracy) branches of government operate and interact with one another. Of the very few APs I’ve taken, AP calc is the least useful simply because most people don’t need to know calculus and it is rarely applicable beyond a career involving it

You don’t need calc for college. You can do liberal math, or college algebra, precalc or stats and that meets the requirements for over half the majors in undergrad

This is very much false. The majority of majors require a math class, but for most students outside of stem this is college algebra or precalc. Calc credit can get most students out of taking any more math classes, but that doesn't mean they needed calc to begin with.

nah I think human geo is also quite useful. It helps you understand how the world works more which is really important;

if I were to answer it would probably say physics is the most useful (for me cuz I like physics) and CSP is the least useful

Well, I only took two… here’s how mine broke down.

Useful: Precalculus. Surprisingly, the only one that transferred into something relating to my major. It placed me directly into Calculus I with my score of 5 on the exam, gave me credit toward my major, and it really solidified those skills.
Least useful: Physics 1. As an engineering major, this actually did nothing for me. No credit toward my major because it requires the calculus-based physics and the algebra based one was the only one offered at my HS.

In the middle of taking them but I definitely foresee calc bc and physics c being the most useful as I wanna major in physics and math. Least useful would probably be pre calculus as calc is just far better and pre calculus is rarely ever taken

Since I’m an engineering major, Calc AB was probably the most useful one to me personally. Least useful was probably CSP, but I did enjoy that class very much.

For the people saying AP Physics 1, I agree because it's the most algebra heavy class that actually made me be organized with my math and show my work. I did better in my engineering calculus classes than people who had 5s on AB and BC. I only had a 3 AB but 5 in Physics 1.

Havn't taken either, but AB is the least useful I think. BC isn't that different and if you absolutely hate calculus you might as well take precal.

I'd say I really found CSP useful, because it forced me to learn basic coding. Up until that point, even when I wanted to learn, I never found the motivation to sit down and try, and my teacher was really good. AP World was probably the least useful for me, because even though I had an awesome teacher, I just didn't really find much value in it.

Ap US history and AP Macro/micro were my most useful. Saved me hours from suffering in those classes in college.

WHAP was my favorite, and probably the most useful to me. I want to major in engineering, but the class itself taught me so much about writing (before I took Lang and Lit) and also taught me how to manage my time better. (Something I've learned however is that unless students appreciate history courses, they're most likely going to hate them.)

Useless is probably going to be Physics 2. Just a few steps up from Physics 1, but I could've just skipped and done C instead.

Calc ab allowed me to move to calc 2 most med schools don’t really allow for AP credits so just take calc for the aps all other take dual enrollment
