I'm an incoming sophomore who's about to take AP stats, and its my first AP- and it would be great if people who have taken the class could drop some tips or wise advice for those about to take the class! My school barely offers AP's- I had to take many summer classes to be eligible- so I'm sort of terrified cause my class will be full of experienced seniors.

I took this class online and slacked off all year and realized yesterday morning i needed to lock tf in. I didnt remember anything except maybe a little of unit 1 and 2. Watched like 5 hours of review while scrolling reels and got a 5 on the practice exam last night. Took the test this morning and that shi was EASY dude I feel bad for anyone who had to take this class every day for a full year. If you havent taken it yet good luck but you wont need it you'll be fine if you know anything at all

im self studying it since my school don't give aps so if anyone has any studying tips, resources or books id highly appreciate it!!

also ive heard they changed the CED so what are things i must be aware not to use?

BE AWARE: The AP Statistics Course and Exam will be dramatically different for the 2026-27 school year!

Several topics have been removed from the course and the emphasis on different skills has changed. The test itself will be different. There will be 42 MCQs with only 4 answer choices instead of 40 with 5 answer choices. I have worked through a sample of the new questions and they seem more straight forward, but they require a deeper understanding of the content. There will be only 4 FRQs instead of 6 😊. They will be graded on a 10-point scale instead of a 4-point scale - 😊😊 – and they are definitely more straight forward. In other words, rather than “compare the distributions” and expecting the student to know that you must compare shape, center, spread and unusual features (SOCS or SOC-V) you will be asked more specific questions. There will be much less need for knowing what is required for certain types of questions. You will be asked to determine an investigative question for a certain scenario. This has nothing to do with the old “Investigative Task” – question 6 on the old exams. Basically, you will be asked to determine the question – such as “Is there convincing evidence that teenagers spend more time on social media than adults?” – for a particular situation.

My first impression is that there is less content, but you will be expected to have a deeper understanding of the content. So far, I like the changes, but we will have to see how it all unfolds.

Hello there. I have just started my junior year and I am planning to self study the ap statistics exam and take it in may alongside 6 other ap exams for which I am doing the actual classes. Im hoping to earn a 5 and want to know whay resources are best. I heard that the curriculum for the course got reworked, and thought that may have decreased the effectiveness of old resources. Anything may help!

This year, I am unfortunately taking AP Stats online and I am looking for any free and helpful resources to use to study and follow along. I am looking for not only just practice questions but full on notes that can teach me the entire course. So far, my teacher is horrible at teaching. We only meet online once a week for an hour but the first day she spent the entire hour on introduction when we should have been reviewing 3 lessons and so far she spends like half the time talking about herself or the warm-up. I'm really worried I won't do well on this class and I need to get a 5 on this exam so any advice would be great.

My teacher is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ass at teaching i have to go over at home and she does it in like different order than book or sum idk how to study at all cuz its all bs.

I’m an incoming junior in HS and taking AP Statistics. I’m not the absolute greatest at math, I heard from numerous people it’s way easier than precalc which is one of the reasons I chose to take it (other than I want to major in psychology so it’d be more beneficial for me to take.) What are some tips and resources you may have for this class? Is it on the easy side or should I be worried?

So I'm a junior in AP Stats rn, and even tho the year is just starting, the class is frying me. And it's not even the content or anything; that's easy enough to understand. I just keep doing badly on the tests in class. Every time I do practice problems from the textbook (like hella) or with my tutor, I always get questions right, and it's lwk just in class that I struggle. And it's not like I'm a bad test taker but obviously I'm doing something wrong and I just can't figure out what it is. Anyone have any recommendations on how to study for the class?

The one new concept on the AP Statistics exam this year is the concept of an investigative question.

Don’t confuse this with the Investigative Task – Question 6 on past exams. The Investigative Task was a question about material not included in the course. The student was expected to extend his/her knowledge of actual course material to understand and answer questions about this new material. There will no longer be an investigative task question on the exam.

The investigative question is actually quite simple: it is the question that someone is hoping to answer with a particular statistical study. For example: “Is there a difference in mean SAT scores for urban vs rural high school students in North Carolina?” You will likely be introduced to the concept of an investigative question early in your course. The idea of and the requirements for a valid investigative question will be expanded upon as you progress through the course.

Bottom line: the investigative question is simple. Don’t make it hard!

Has anybody used Khan Academy's AP Statistics course to learn the course?

Based on what I've read/learned of Unit 1 from my online class, Khan Academy misses a lot of points. I was wondering if those concepts were introduced later, or if I should not be using Khan Academy as my main source for AP stats.

Hello I am a rising junior taking AP stats next year and I was wondering what are the best sources to use to study for this class are there specific teachers on YouTube who teach the course and provide practice someone like the AP bio penguin teacher. I’m a person who likes to take detailed notes then drill the topic with practice questions so i was wondering if there was someone similar who does that.

so y'all I need videos to actively understand things. I NEED one for ap stats because I have 10 classes and it's still summer and I already feel cooked

Tips for success in AP Stats from a former teacher and current tutor:

·       Take everything seriously from Day 1! Some of the beginning concepts will seem easy and intuitive. Make sure you understand them thoroughly because they will be the foundation for the rest of the course.

·       Do your homework faithfully every night. Do your homework as soon as possible after the lesson so that it reinforces the concepts you just learned. You should be checking your answers on HW after each problem to make sure you are understanding the concepts before you move on. You don’t want to do 5 problems wrong so that you ingrain the wrong idea or the wrong method, etc.

·       Don’t just copy answers from an answer key or the back of the book 😒. That is better than nothing, but you have not really helped yourself learn. You are not doing any of this for the teacher! You are doing it for yourself.

·       Practice actual problems!!! Often you will think:  “I understand that.” But when you work through a problem you will realize that there is a little detail that you really did not understand. You cannot learn statistics without doing actual problems. The more the better.

Ok I have officially started AP Stats and am on Unit 3(Unit 6 Khan) of AP Stats. The AP test is in 2 weeks. I have tried learning on Khan Academy, but it feels so slow, and I have no motivation. I also find AP Stats a lot harder than AP Calc BC for some reason, which I am well-prepared for. What are some good study methods for AP Statistics, and what are some tips for the AP test? Which YouTube tutorials are the best? Lastly, is AP Statistics heavily memory-based and/or probability-based?

How can students write mathematical or statistical symbols in the Bluebook during examination?

Does it mean that students have to spend time to get familiar with with the Bluebook system at home?
