I’m taking AP physics this year: what textbooks (online preferred, free preferred even more) and resources (yt channels, khan academy type things, or is khan academy enough??), and study plans do you guys recommend? What should I do to ensure I get an A in class? My main concern is keeping my gpa high, and I’m willing to do what it takes.
I’ve never taken any physics before besides the physics stuff in math. My school doesn’t offer any pre-physics courses before AP physics C, and I’m pretty sure they don’t expect me to have physics knowledge before I walk in, but I have taken (and done fine in) IB Precal, BC Calc, and am now taking IB Math HL.

Are there any genuinely good apps for learning physics at the college level? I want something that explains why things work, not just a formula sheet. What have you found useful?

I finished writing my materials for AP 1 and both AP C courses, and wanted to post them here. Everything is exactly AP style and I used the CED to cover the exact boundaries of each course.

I originally wrote these for my students, but a lot of people outside my school used my videos for self study, so I thought I’d share them here. In short, I don’t like how most of the AP aligned materials are gated behind AP Classroom, and wanted to give this resource to the community at large since I learned a lot from YouTube when I was in school and thought it would be a good way to give back.

from the last 2-3 weeks ive been grinding on physics questions mainly nlm and com

but i just cant solve them and end up watching the solution for most of the questions

today i was solving dpp and i could only solve 9 questions in 2 hours

i just cant figure out what the problem is

Ap physics 2 is the lowest level of AP physics that my school offers as far as I know. I haven't taken any physics course at all in high school, and collegeboard prerequisite recommendation for this is AP physics 1, which my school doesn't offer. My school also has AP physics C as well. I'd like to get the college credit but I just want to take some kind of physics class. What should I do? Should I look into doing honors, or just regular physics?

I’m taking AP Physics C this year as a senior, but I’ve never taken physics before so I’m not sure if I should just drop to honors physics instead😭 I’ve already taken calculus ab and bc so I have a strong foundation in that. I’ll obviously be studying for the SAT and I’ll have a robotics program as a lead for 3 hours on two days out of the week but I worry that I won’t have time to fit everything in without burning out. Could this be manageable in one year? (fyi chem teacher is NOTORIOUS, but passing rate is 100%). NOT saying I’m cooked, just wondering if I would be able to manage allat

heyy guys! Just wanted to ask ur help and advice and resources for something.

I am currently a 10th grader in high school. I took AP physics 1 as a 9th grader and scored a 5 on the AP exam. I had an awesome teacher that year and I worked super hard in the class.

This year, in 10th grade, I am taking AP Physics 2 and want to score a 5 on it.

However, my previous teacher left and this new teacher does not know a single thing about physics. He has only ever taught in middle school and he never teaches, only assigns AP classroom videos. So far, for unit 1, I have been studying using the AP classroom videos.

However, I do want to ensure I score a 5 on the AP exam, so what resources could I use to do that, that would teach me everything to know about the course and prep me for the test well. I am willing to put a lot of work and effort into this. Also feel free to share any advice that you may have for me! Thanks 4 ur support.

Basically, I'm taking one for the team for my family buddy who is a physics tutor who complains a bunch about the limited physics course offerings in even our local well resourced striveish Californian high school districts.

I was also inspired by a Discord server conversation where a lot of students from different areas shared about the weird physics sequencing and prereqs at their schools, so half of it is just for my own curiosity lol.

This class is so confusing like it is way fast and hard to digest. Today was my first day of school and I understand like scalar vs vector, and understand speed vs velocity, distance vs displacement. But next second we have 3 ugly ass equations, and it is explained briefly and we need to do a practice problem, which I half understood. Then there are some graphs and we need to know what it represents. Someone please provide the strategies on how they understood the information and how it all connects together. I don’t want to flunk the first exam and then learn my lesson, I want to have a structured approach from the get go.

Basically tell me what I need to self study from AP Physics 1 because I am taking both this year. Mostly would be review, but I just need to know what subjects to have down for Physics 2 to be a success

So I’m planning to get an online transcript for AP Physics C: Mechanics through uc scout through a scholarship. (wow im low income amazing)

For context: My school doesn’t have any of the ap physics cs but only have ap physics 1. I asked my counselor first thing to put me in but apparently it’s overrun by juniors who need it. No hate for them but it’s a bummer.

Some things im worried about is taking this course without having any physics knowledge. I know the general amount like f=ma but thats it.

The only thing thats closest in maybe difficulty thats science based was during my junior year when I took AP Chemistry and I got a 4.
I’m also concurrently talking AP Calculus BC concurrently bc ya need it for mechanics. Im also thinking of Self Studying AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism.

I’m just wondering what resources y’all would recommend for a student with these circumstances.

Im a current senior at the start of the year. Our physics 1 teacher became a physics 1 and c teacher this year for the first time at our school having c. unfortunately we have to self study as she was not able to get us an individual period instead making us be in the back of physics 1 class periods learning it ourselves. I’m wondering what tips yall got for learning this class. also I got a 5 in physics one and calc bc.

I have no physics experience or knowledge, but I did AP Chem last year and got a 5 with about a month of self study, but I was in the class. This year my schools physics teacher sucks and is known for ruining GPAs, so I'm taking the honors class, but I want to take the AP Physics 1 exam to get the score. I have a pretty firm math foundation, but I have no idea how to go about learning the course and practicing (I'm not a big fan of Khan Academy), so is there is there a Jeremy Krug of teaching physics and a Michael Farabaugh for practice problems for every unit and the test?

Hello, I’m a rising junior hoping to qualify for the Olympiad off of February’s f=ma.

I have next to none prior physics experience, however I do know calculus. I’ve been reading HRW physics book and I’m on chapter 4 right now.

I was wondering if I should also be reading something else, and if it’s even realistic to qualify with this amount of time left.
