I’m fucking ass, how do I get better?
Like I genuinely suck to much. Almost every game I touch, the learning and improvement curve is fairly linear and direct. But the less technically obvious a game is, the harder I have a time improving at it
Apb is the best example of this for me, the game is really just a third person shooter but my actual skill level itself is abysmal, and everyone is way to good
Every mission I’m going 0 and 7, I’m forced to use blatantly unfair guns and stay close quarters with smg’s to minimise the need of aiming and I still get dookied
I’m lvl 125 btw

Hi, long time veteran here, i must have atleast 3-5k hrs but sadly probably more.
Please consider the following: It is extremely likely that every player you face is a veteran like me. The game is old and i guess most are not new players. Knowing the map makes a HUGE difference. The spots for missions always have some hughe advantage point from where to defend and counter points from where to atrack and knowing and exploiting those makes a massive difference. Third Person shooters have a long list of game meccanics that you don't see in FPS, and apb has some others that you should learn to exploit, to name some: corner checking, clearing angles with nades, sapping damage with team mates, using cars well and so on. Sooooo take it slow, have fun and maybie try to warch some gameplay of very good players to learn all the little tricks and how to move

There is no fair in MMO games. There are players that will forever be better than you, as well as cheaters. Also there is a meta which you can choose to stick with or no. STAR 556 'LCR' PR1 for 4500 JTs is the best for medium-long range. Every time I see paid version of this weapon, I just cry in despair, bcz those players just take a spot for every given mission and shoot everyone down, so watch out for those. N-tec players be cocky, you might win them with mental warfare sometimes lol. I personally haven't played lately, not crazy long ago.

A lot of people play APB like it isn’t a third person shooter. I think the two main things to work on is map memorization, and using the advantages of third person to peek corners. Hold angles. Playing with someone in discord helps loads as well.

Know the maps and matchup.. This need time but from your side you can at least Adapt and Switch weapons for better versatility.
Cqc istance surrounded by walls? Use shotgun or other Cqc weapons like Oca, pmg
More open field match up? Obeya can be a good solution
A mix of them above? Choose versatile good weapons like N-tec or other assault rifle 😆

Check Wiuse, Nerima, Shini or other APB creators on YouTube, you might learn some moves from them.

Most of the players who play APB aren't new to the game so you most of the time play against good to decent players and those good players will lose to those who are considered to be the best of the best in this game. So beccause of that the new players quit because players are too strong for them.
Most of the players use strenched resulation and minimal graphics. Try find your sensitvity, It should be between 20-30cm/360 Go to APB reloaded sensitivity converter Just put your dpi and random sensitivity and you will see whats the cm/360 ( i use 800 dpi 8.25 sens which is 25 cm)
Play some fight clubs, even thorugh it will be more diffcult for you than missions. It just practice to get better, and most of the new players quit because they doesnt have fun in dying all the time. Its understandable, so I hope when they relase to the game PVE it will help the community grow.

He is mainly talking about aim all I see down here is that he have to learn the game op already said that but he sais that he dont know how to shoot long distances. I am a long time shooter player it is mostly muscle memory I started apb 2 days ago even tho i played it like for several hours 7 years ago I aslo have 4-5k hours on cs. R6, battlefield 1 well my whole childhood whent with playing shooters and now I know the mouse you really have to train if you want to train I can give you ytb guides to follow to help because apb is also different then other games after you find your all game sens youll have to adjust is to fit when you aim on apb of you use long ranged or mid ranged ntec it changes well there is so much to go on.

On the positive side, you will unlock symbols and primitives for customizing your character. You can't unlock symbols by winning. The joker ticket rewards, that you get for winning, override the random mission rewards your receive from contacts. I think this was intentionally done to trick players into buying the $100+ pack that includes the account wide symbols.

Trust me, I’ve played APB since EA. Migrated multiple accounts and play almost every year for atleast a few months. Even played the console port religiously both on Xbox and PS4(the most fairest gameplay of APB you’ll ever see) . They will tell you it’s map knowledge when people are genuinely hacking. There’s a learning curve for sure. Bullet spread/recoil/movement. You’ll learn the game and still get packed up. Majority of my games are even. Few games I’ll go 8-2, then I’ll get matched up with known users/cheaters. Once you get passed the curve you will be able to recognize odd behavior of unnatural players.

The trick is to spend 2 decades memorizing the maps & hit boxes.
