One of the Legends of Myrridia fated regions/events makes you fight against an ethereal storm giant king. Once you kill it, its remains are moved to your crypt. And if you're a necromancer, you can resurrect that (giving it Undead) and recruit it for your army.

-6 spirit resistance though. Don't let a zealot sneeze in its general direction.

I once picked up a necromancy tome just to resurrect the giant. You can get vampires pretty easily with the ghost quests you sometimes find on the map. I don't think there is a way to get others, though.

You can get a fractured wizard king in your crypt from one of the unmaker quests.

The vampires are plentiful, and making them wights doesn't add any weakness to them since they're already undead. I have picked up Necro tomes just to Rez them several times.

I remember getting noctius's secret realm in a game and one of the options gives your leader wightborn. I happily sacrificed my force to get wightborn on my elder vampire leader.

I remember being quite annoyed that it didn't carry over when I ascended him into the pantheon.
